Can anyone provide a link proving the all-new 3.0 liter diesel engine boasts a better MPG efficiency?

I can tell you from personal experience that my new V6 CRD gets about 10% less mpg than the 5 cylinder but its worth the price. Quiet, power and smooth! Can anyone provide a link proving the all-new 3.0 liter diesel engine boasts a better MPG efficiency?

For what this is worth on my 2007 diesel high roof. I took a quick trip to Los Angeles, and back, about 250 miles total.
Filled it up to the brim on start, and filled it up upon return. Had heavy winds all the way to LA, and had the pedal pegged there and back 81.1 mph. ( actually I love the governor or else who know how many tickets I would get.
Hand calculated I got 17. 3 mpg. If I can ever keep it below 80, I'll recalculate it
Hope you ran the engine in before you hit the 80 mile mark in the first 500 miles, the break in oil is not meant for high speedThis is about what I get under those conditions.
changing the final drive ratio on your van is Mercedes-Benz ratings as follows 3727:1I'm still getting 17-17.5 with my High-roof passenger...highway or city.
4.1 gearing and around 2600 miles. It may be overpowered with that gearing since the mileage doesn't change. If I had the money, I'd go with lower gears in the back.
Actually no. I always run my new vehicles HARD, VERY HARD, from day one, and all my vehicles have given me great service.Hope you ran the engine in before you hit the 80 mile mark in the first 500 miles,
Controversial to say the least.Actually no. I always run my new vehicles HARD, VERY HARD, from day one, and all my vehicles have given me great service.
Here's an article that seems to back up what I have been doing for 30 years.

Correcting mistake with Euro v US specschanging the final drive ratio on your van is Mercedes-Benz ratings as follows 3727:1
Technically it can not be done on your van as it's rated 4.1 to 4.5 for the weight carrying capacity alter the final drive everything has to be computer reset with laser memory, for front to rear ratios to match including the camber up front. it appears the auto trans is not correctly set for RPM changes to match the shift points, it's too complicated for me to understand, but there is huge differences between Manual and the standard 5 speed auto there are resting programs for the six speed auto again not for U.S Sprinters
Just had an email from Mercedes in a large PDF explaining how it's done U.S Sprinter techs do not have either the equipment or the data assist programs to do this, due to alterations of GVW ratings in the U.S out side of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter's specifications.from 2002 to 2007

jeep's 3.0 CRD is from the Mercedes 2002 1996 design Mercedes -Benz passenger vehicle there is no comparison between the two although they do have a similar engineering but that's where the engine stops .Mercedes spent over twenty mi;;on dollars rebuilding that motor for the Sprinters every thing changed the only common part is the injectors even they are different much more heavy duty to take the heat so to speak .Well, in the current US/ Canada brochure or dodge equip&price website , they offer a 3.92 and 4.10 rear axle. Niether of which mention a switchable locking diff. I am curious if the tranny will handle a 3.73 or will this strain the torque converter. I understand most of what you said. As in most of your posts you have an ability to explain things well in laymens terms. Thank you.
For example our Dmax and the cummins handles the switch from a 3.73 to a 3.42 well, achieving a 2-4 mpg incresase. If you tow 10,000 + lbs on a reagular basis with the 3.42 you might be visiting the tranny dept after 20K miles or so.
Two speed diff man the last time we used them was on my old 1976 Dodge dam heap of junk, still never did more than ten miles to the gallon
I don't think it could work with out an awful lot of modifications and the expense would not be justified, as such the trans is matched to the engine for the rpm via the gears in the trans for the twin inline turbos, I'm not qualified to work that one out Andy could work it out I'm sure of that, but the money side would kill the option.
Maybe , I wasn't that clear.
I see that jeep is putting a 3.0 CRD in their little suv. However if it is the same motor as sprinters then it to should be capable of the higher HP/TQ, by either a program switch or swapping computers. However it might also be understandably beyond the limits of the sprinter drive train. But as I have seen and read the vans here are very conservatively under rated for obvious reasons.
