First Aid Kit

I'm starting this thread because the original thread has somehow disappeared (thanks BaywoodBill).

Anyways, the discussion centered around finding a First Aid Kit that mounts on the driver's seat. Zach found a website that listed one of the First Aid Kits that I had found on the yahoo list. P/N: Q 4 86 0025 found at...

http://www.samstagsales.com/mercedes.htm

...is actually NOT the First Aid Kit that goes in the Sprinter.

Another recent search at the yahoo list came up with this MB p/n: 000 860 0750. Supposedly, this is the part number of the first aid kit that is sold in Europe. I wonder if we can actually get this here.

Howdy Seek -

I had also pasted in the following from the Samstag Sales site:

Mercedes-Benz Q 4 86 0004 First Aid Kit, with Black Plastic Box, for W107, W116, W123, W126-(Coupe only), cars. Made by White Cross (http://www.samstagsales.com/mercedes/mbq486a4.jpg). Size is about 10-3/8" wide x 7-1/8" deep x 3-1/4" tall. Contents (http://www.samstagsales.com/mercedes/mbq486b4.jpg). $45.95 (http://www.samstagsales.com/mercedes/mbq48604.jpg)

Mercedes-Benz Q 4 86 0024 First Aid Kit, Soft pack 10x11 inches, for W202 cars, model C220 94-96', C230 97-98', C280 94-98', and C36 AMG 95-97'. Logo printed in white lettering. $37.95 (http://www.samstagsales.com/mercedes/mbq4860024.jpg)

Mercedes-Benz Q 4 86 0025 First Aid Kit, Soft pack W124, W126, W140, W201, and W210, W220, Logo printed in white lettering. $37.95 (http://www.samstagsales.com/images/mbq48600.jpg)

Mercedes-Benz Q 4 86 0029 First Aid Kit, Soft pack W208, CLK cars special order. $37.95

This time I included more of their links. This seems to show that none of the above "Q 4 86" . . . first aid kits listed above are technically correct for the Sprinter.

Howdy Folks -

This just appeared on the Yahoo SprinterVan Group and I am posting it again here for archival purposes:

The first aid kit for the Sprinter cost in Germany 22.74 Euro =
$29.56. The MB part # is 000 860 0750. Maybe you can order it from
a US MB dealer?

Thanks, Zach, that Yahoo post is what I wanted to add. Now to see if a US MB or Dodge dealer can order that kit or if there's any way we can order it from Germany. Perhaps folks in Canada can order it?

Hi Bill -

Let us all know if you have success in getting the first aid kit.

I've heard that one or more of the US Unimog specialists are willing to order any and all Mercedes parts. Haven't used any of them myself but this might be worth a try if your local MB dealer can't help out.

I've found someone who can order the MB part # 0008600750 and I have ordered one ($40.00). When I receive it (probably a month) I will report what I have learned.

Altered Sprinter

The first aid kit was deleted in the Australian Sprinter line up, that fits as a standard feature on the European Sprinters in the right or left hand front door panel at the bottom dark Grey section, along with the warning triangle in case of breakdown.

is there something special about German band-aides :smilewink: ??

O.T.:
Isn't there a special fire extinguisher bracket for a for the drivers front seat as well?

you know if Mercedes loved us this stuff would be readily available not a damn easter egg hunt!

Ok heres a dumb question. Since I just got my Sprinter where is the space in the door for the first aid kit?
Another question, what's the bracket behind the seat for? ( black with a strap)

At the bottom of each door there is an enclosed space with a removable plastic panel that had a knob you turn to release the panel. As I understand it, the first aid kit goes in the driver's door and the safety triangles in the right door.

Apparently you have to have the specific Mercedes safety triangles for the passenger door because the ones I bought won't fit. Others have searched for a first aid kit that might fit in the driver's door but none have been located except that I have ordered one of the Mercedes ones (some time ago now) and am waiting for it.

OK I opened that compartment and wondered what it was ment to be used for :idunno: Now I know thanks. I have a first aid kit that I have for my other van that is in a soft bag I'll have to try to see if it'll fit in there.

Since there are posts here about the fire exstinguisher - any one ever get one that fits there or have you just modify one to fit there?

I have heard of folks making standard US ones fit without many probs. Verify diameter of bracket before you look and find to match.

It's strange how fire extinguishers got into this first aid kit thread. I think it would be good (for future readers) to put the fire extinquisher into a different thread... the search engine will be more likely to pick it up.

Meanwhile, I have an LTV Free Spirit. It has the plate with screws (one loose) on the driver's side but LTV installed a fire extinguisher behind the passenger seat by the opening to the slider. It's not as handy if there should be an engine fire as it would be on the driver's side but it is more handy for most other things.
