This seemed like the right/most appropriate place to post about Chrysler-ownership drama

I don't know anything about Kirk Kerkorian.

Does he - or Tracinda - have any fans amongst the membership?

Nickels and Dimes 2.75B does not even come close to entry level as a negotiating bid.
The April the 4th 9th general AG meeting of the board made it clear as to the stratagem's that have been put in place, that the Damlier Chrysler division will stay the course.

Oh, I probably read something about it, but failed to pin it to the cerebral cache.

I'll research it out of curiousity, now.

he's an 89 year old billionaire who made his money in las vegas casinos.

he tried to buy chrysler 10 years ago just before MB did.

His modus operandi is usually to buy a company, break it into parts,
make money on the parts then resell the company.

I have no idea what he plans to do with chrysler

Kirk's playing with the future's market with hedging ! Notice how much the stock options went up! 'when the players started, to roll the ball'.

I beginning to wonder if ANY offer to buy Chrysler will be acceptable. The offers will be loaded with so many onerous contingencies and conditions- the Germans may well have Chrysler for a long time. Doktor A

Well, if you want to sell an unprofitable operation you have to negotiate; if you don't want to sell it you have to run it differently. Not that any US manufacturer is doing so well. And now, they are on a downhill track such that they will continue to lose ground even if they produce a superior product. It's a sort of momentum thing. Toyota is strongly favored by momentum.

I'm not sure "sell" is even appropriate in this case. They probably even can't give Chrysler away, gratis, without the taker tacking on impossible to swallow conditions. Doktor A

I will add this...there is no better time to change and forge into new frontiers than right now! Especially if the US is interested intrying to compete in the global car industry. Sounds like a job for Trump!

And that's just what DC is doing, with it's chrysler products.
Exploring for new synergies managers to market US Made products, in an every competative Global market.
