Something is wrong with the gauge cluster.

Do you know what it is?

I'm looking but have no clue:thinking:

Is it because the Odometer on this 2006 or older has only 2.7 miles on it?...seems fairly low...does it take more that this to get a new sprinter from assembly line to truck to dealer floor???

Not due to mileage or the digital readout.
Hint: Something is wrong with the gauges.

ahhh, you have a full tank?

Sorry, not the correct answer.
Everything is off. The key is not in the ignition. All the gauges work.

Taking an absolute wild guess cause we are all blinded to the obvious:laughing:
That metric gauge looks out of whack with the MPH unit. Then again I'm looking at it up side down again

It's not that obvious, but you're close. It has to do with the tach and the speedo. I only noticed it after doing this...

I have to bow out of this one as your gauges are different to mine in both RPM markings where I have two on the RPM counter you have one only and besides My temp gauge only goes to 120 Celsius
I think the indicator on the RPM is set too low for zero>
You've been fiddling with it in your pajamas! I know you haven't lit it up yet

It looks low, but when I turn the key, with the motor still off, the needles zero themselves.
Anyways, I thought the needles were the same size for the tach and the speedo. I mean why wouldn't they be. So I'm on the road looking at the speedo and I don't remember the needle extending all the way to the mph digit. :wtf: Figured out that I swapped needles. :bash:
Well, I won't be fixing it until I get my new LEDs.

Yep you have them back to front, ggod one I only looked at mine and the blue hell pic and even that one shows the opposite to yours, does it matter?

You're right. It probably doesn't. Only thing is every time I look at the speedo and how it extends past the line and it blocks the mph numbers, it'll always remind me how I mistakenly swapped the needles. It's a mental thing, so I'll have to change it.
I was also thinking how people are complaining that the speedo is fast 3-5mph. They can always install the needle below the zero to correct the difference.

Is there a dimmer for the dash lights, I have never been able to find one?
Cheers,

It's the + and - buttons just under the digital readout.

Except for me the error is not constant. For me, actual = 0.93 X indicated.

I think you're right. If I remember correctly the error was not linear. The error would increase as speed increased (at least for me).

Yeah, the difference is a percentage. That's why you can get the scan gauge to give you the accurate number.
I like the puzzles you present, Seek. Not that I figure out the answer but I like the puzzles.

How do you set up scan gauge to work on the Sprinter, I show it is only getting 10 mpg, so it must need some adjustment of some kind?

There is an adjustment in the scangauge menu. You will have to play around with the settings. I've seen it, but haven't thoroughly played with it because I have gps.

That's right. In the setup of the device you can adjust the mileage read out by a percentage. I just installed my scanguage and I set it for -3%. I think.
I haven't driven yet to see if it's accurate.
In reading the scanguage manual and setting the % deviation I at first thought I needed to set the thing to +3% but then I thought that would make the scanguage read even higher speed that the speedometer, so I changed it to -3%.
Today I'm driving a few miles and I can see what it looks like. In a couple of weeks we will go on a trip with the GPS hooked up and can do a more accurate check.

So, as I was driving along I thought the ScanGauge showed a speed that was too low. I adjusted it to -2%.
In addition, the speed shown in the ScanGauge wasn't truly lower by the 3% I had asked for. At 50 mph it showed 45. At 40 it showed 35. At 60 it showed 55 but maybe I was going 61. That's much more linear than I expected to see.

I have now gone driving for a while and brought my GPS along for company. It turns out that without adjustment the scangauge read the actual MPH as confirmed by the GPS.
sikwan

So that means if someone was to lower the speedo needle, it will actually read accurate. :bounce:

Weird isn't it. The computer reads the correct speed and I imagine that the odometer is correct but the needle is off.
I knew my speed was off when I first got my Sprinter, I verified it with my GPS and when I got the Scan Guage I saw that it shows the correct speed - identical to the GPS :idunno:
I guess some brass somewheres doesn't want you to speed :wtf:

I had the same experience with mine. I didn't adjust the spedo percentage at all, figuring it would be right on and it seems to be. Also, after several fill ups the amount of fuel used is within a tenth of a gallon as compared to the pump and I expect it to get right on after a few more fill ups.
