We have a Sprinter with Sliding door, have seen a screen in Tassie for our model but at the time did not take much notice. Have seen adds for other screens, what brand is the best.

With summer approaching its something I should look into.

Even thou we only slide our door back half way I do not want the $4,000 small door option, I think I would prefer a sliding inside door flyscreen (with a fixed flyscreen) similar to that on houses but have never seen one around.

Of course what I want and what I can get are probably two different things.

Comments appreciated.

Richard, have the standard Sprinter Sliding door on our 313cdi, As for a photo, no way will I show my inability to post one on the web, what can you expect from someone who has been involved with computers years before the advent of the first IBM, but for the last 7 years of my working life was responsible for IT in Australia, India, China and NZ (and Tasmania) for a Global company, during this time and years prior the last thing I wanted to do when I came home from the office was to get onto a computer.

Well Peter I'm not from an age of electronics, but it is a learning tool,so give your self a break and have a kit-kat:thumbup:
Peter the frame is not so bad on the door of your cargo entrance door. One go to a window fly screen manufacture, and simply get him to make a flexible unit
Alternative window clear screen with fly wire these are roll up type Bunnings Hardware have them but heavy.
bugs and fly's are not an issue down home unless in a very damp area that has stagnant water about.
then there is the thread for Aussie screens on the Aus section for camper threads not cheap though.

Richard, Thanks, they are the people I have already contacted, would like to see if there are anu alternatives out there, prior to deciding. Realistically would like to see one already installed, so may have to wait a while.

Hi again Peter.
The screens are a real pro job seen them many times in Brisbane and the NT.
Personally they are too expensive, but I have not ever seen an alternative site, so maybe some one else has?
If you wee interested in the front sun privacy shades I'd buy from the Stars even with air freight they are cheaper than the Australian made ones, added bonus the American ones have a center zip

Peter.
The domestic fly screen has to handle dogs and children so is built strong to suit. If you are only interested in keeping out an insect you can use a much lighter cloth, we have some very fine but strong polyester cloth that is used to make laundry bags. The hole screen when rolled up will fit in to your pocket. Eric.

Saw a Fly screen today on a 311 had an AL track above the door. Track was in the form of a H on its side, little plastic clips with a hole on the bottom slide along the track. The screen was probably made out of the stuff you mentioned Eric had hooks to fit into the sliding clips and sewn in magnets on both sides to hold into the sides of the door. No meagnets etc on the floor cannot remember whether there were lead weights involved.

Easy to move in and out and take off when not required.
