I found some up Harbor past Fair by about a half mile. The 405 is in sight from there.
My credit card shows it as EXXONMOBIL COSTA MESA 7145402445

Mrdi,

Do you mean Pacific Coast Highway near Newport, Huntington, Redondo beaches, west of Torrance, South of Marina Del Rey, North of San Pedro and east of, um, Catalina Island?

Do these people run any CFN/Fuelman cardlock sites in your area?

You don't need to be a business to become a CFN card holder.... You just need to contact a CFN (or Fuelman) network member like PooleFuels or other CFN member in your area, to get started, to get a card.

Commerical fueling card holders buy fuel from sites managed by professionals who are just selling quality fuel to professionals.

I strongly prefer commercial suppliers to normal gas stations.

I think gas stations just use fuel as a hook to get you on the property so you buy candybars, potato chips, beer and cigarettes.

Ok, maybe that's harsh, but I'm told the money in gas stations is made from food and drink sales.

Consider cardlock systems.....

Thanks Jon,

Redondo, San Pedro etc. are Los Angeles County and far from Orange County where Huntington and Newport Beach are located.
Mind you the above cities are only 40 miles north, but in LA traffic, forty miles can be 4 hours.
The "Beach Cities" are Huntington Beach ,Newport Beach and sometimes Laguna Laguna Beach.
They are referred to as Beach Cities because the freeway ends there and the merging freeway ramps 25 miles inland refer to them as Beach Cities.

Catalina is WSW of Newport Beach and only 26 miles away, it is clear sailing to Catalina, no stop lights, but only marine diesel is available there.

There is a prolifferation of Mercedes diesels in Orange County, especially along the coast (PCH).
There is probably a supplier of diesel that is favored among coastal residents, but it will most likely not be a card supplier.
More than likely it will be a Chevron or similar station that provides most of the diesel for the community.
Truck stops are common along highway 5 in California until you get to the Northern LA area, then they disappear.
Fed Ex is located near John Wayne Airport, so perhaps there is a dealer in that area that pumps quite a bit of fuel.
I will check the Pollfuels link.

Best,

Mrdi
