I noticed the below photo on the web today and thought other Sprinter fans might enjoy it. Now that is one attention-getting paintjob!

You can find more information about this Sprinter here: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=32152

Around Houston, new-shape Sprinters-- all Dodge-badged-- make the rounds in livery for a laundry service, an excellent local bakery, airport parking shuttles, and of course the usual national fleets (Ryder, FedEx). I rarely see publicly owned Sprinters in the US, though, despite the fact that they are absolutely perfect for ambulances, paddy wagons, etc. The above photo is an exception-- though it's from Austin, a town widely recognized as being way cooler than mine!

Do any of the other North Americans on the board have photos of Sprinters "in service" in their local community?

Regards,
D

I am going to be uncool and post a reply to my own topic.

Coincidentally, just a couple of days after posting the link at the beginning of this thread, I happened to be out on the highway on my way back to Houston from a road trip to the central Texas town of Blanco and passed both of the new Austin ambulance Sprinters in convoy on the highway! Very neat. Texas is a big state, but it's a small world!

Best,
D

PS-- Yo Dukepilot-- while it's hard not to thrill at the sound of a desmo at full chat, I'm not sure that the Ducati USA van qualifies as a public service vehicle! Only kidding, thanks for the pic.

I thought about starting a new thread but you beat me to it. Happy to keep it going.
I own 2 fire extinguisher franchises with FireMaster. I service and sell portable fire extinguishers. Florida requires all businesses to have their fire extinguishers certified once a year and recharged every 6 years. This truck is set up to do this. Since I work in the truck, I put a second A/C unit in, Adrian Steel cabinets, a 5000 watt inverter with 3 batteries, a 12v air compressor with 2-10 lb air tanks mounted underneath, a custom made water tank and drying cabinet, 2-100 lb closed recovery systems for recharging and a laptop computer and laser jet printer for writing invoices and proposals.
My previous work truck was a 1988 Chevy P-30 18 foot stepvan. I am still getting used to the smaller space.
Hope to see more work vehicles.
