I want to oder a Fantastic Fan for my '08 cargo, but I have a question about the "profile base".
Currently, I only have reflective insulation installed on the ceiling. I plan to add plywood to finish it off. Part of ordering the Fantastic Fan requires specifying either a low or high profile base option. I'm stuck here and want to make sure I order the right thing. I'm pretty sure I want the low-profile, but was hoping other FFan owners might chime in.
Thanks.

Not sure, my '08 is unfinished inside, not even sure which ones I have.
One thing I learned the hard way though:
You can mount the fan anywhere, even over the ridges, but if you do:
Skip the gasket, and use butyl tape instead.
You just build up the difference in the lower un-ridged spots w/ the tape, and have at least one course of tape over everything else.
I have two fans, so the rear one is over the high ridges, the front one only a little bit.
They don't leak......now.
They were improperly installed by a converter originaly, and leaked like crazy untill I re-mounted them with several layers of tape build-up.
Get the low profile.
I mounted 2 on my roof.
From the same supplier as your link!

Thank you boardster, that's what i've been looking for to mount the solar fan i've been saving for a year now. Built-up butyl tape makes good sense.
This Forum is Great!

Thanks, I just ordered one. Scott was nice enough to extend his sale through today (too tired to change the web site :clapping: )
