Regarding www.alldatadiy.com
On 30 March 2009, I subscribed to AllDataDIY.com's service, purchasing access to the service info for my 2007 Sprinter.
Today, most - if not all - the Sprinter service data on AllDataDIY.com's webservice matches the service manual CD, including the errors such as block heater info, resetting service reminder using the instrument panel buttons at least one reference to Cummins engines.
AllDataDIY.com appears to have effectively made service manual info - with all its virtues and flaws - available to everyone.
I just tried it with a LINUX distribution using Mozilla Firefox and I was able to view everything including wiring diagrams (which require Adobe SGV viewer on a Windows system if you're using the CD sold by Tech Authority).
Today, the cost is less than USD $30 for a year, which is considerably less than Tech Authority. For less than USD $50.00 you may purchase access to the info for five (5) years.
What you don't get:
1) Timely access to manufacturer recall/service bulletin procedures. As of 30 March 2009, the H44 recall was not available on AllDataDIY.com, but the Crankshaft Position Sensor recall info is there.
2) download of flash files for a scan tool like StarMOBILE
3) maybe other things I've not found yet
I don't view the lack of timely recall info, flash files etc as being critical, esp for the end-user subscription cost.
What you get that's better than the CD: A search mechanism that gets you close to the content that interests you (even though some of that content is wrong).
Your mileage may vary....
