Here is a temporary link to my copy of the 2003 Sprinter Service Manual. The link is good as long as files are downloaded once every 30 days. Lack of interest and the files disappear on this free file host provider. Either down the complete 41 Meg file or the individual diagonistic chapters, in this case Powertrain: http://savefile.com/files/259007.

Another link of unknown source and duration. This is only of the manual, and does not have the other diagnosis manuals available off the site above: http://204.95.8.185/sprinter/sprinter-manual.pdf

Get it while you can folks.

I checked the years and they are all similar up to 2006, except for a few changes where the 06 had backup sensors and headlight washers.

Wow, this is great. I just bought a 2004 with no manual. I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure everything out. Hopefully there are not too many differences between 03 and 04.

Thanks again.

Regards.

Unfortunately, the engine was revised for 2004: water-cooled EGR valve and, if memory serves, revised fuel injection system(?) Same basic structure but detail changes aplenty.

The referenced engine change was from the OM 612 to the OM 647. Most of the changes were confined to the intake. At the same time DC changed their ECU interface, so pre-2003 will have a harder time finding dealers compentent in reading the older codes.

Every year seems to have some unique wiring changes, even between 2001-2002 there were changes - though largely because of the introduction of new options.

Neither the parts catalogs or the service manuels are transferable for many items to chassis Sprinters, and that probably includes a lot of the Class C motorhomes.

Between 2002 and 2003, the low pressure fuel pump was moved from the front of the engine's head to the top of the tank. Hence all the problems with the fuel line vibration.

Awesome! We bought this GREAT vehicle because it was SAFE ( 8 children) and good mileage, and a great ride compared to typical vans.
We (me, the cheif mechanic) decided that since this was 1. mercedes and 2. diesel all the work would be done by TRAINED TECHNICIANS; however, seems that they're at a disadvantage because they have to use a diagnostic tool instead of their hat holder and common sense.
So, I'm back maintaining our family vehicle and needed this and what a great price!

Thanks to Sprinter-source.com, we've fixed the rumble problem with the transmission, and though a little late, purchased a dip-stick for the transmission and will be more frequent in the tranmission maintenance (especially since the 'TRAINED' technicians failed to fill the transmission when the van was in for service, though they did 'fix' a brake indicator ~ $200.00 USD (it needed a new light bulb, but the diagnostic tool/proceedure failed to inicate that the problem might be the bulb).

Now, can someone post a set of codes to read from the 2003 onboard computer? :)

How about looking them up yourself in the down loads of the manuals from this link?

Unfortunately, this download does not seem to be active (unless I just can't figure out how to do it).
Is there any active source for downloading a service manual?

If the download doesn't start fairly quickly, try the "Download Now" button at the bottom of the page. Also, remember that the main manual is 41 megs. Even my T1 line takes a while to download this file (also time lost on passing the firewall).

I also note that Adobe 7 indicates that there are form fields in the document (Adobe 5 didn't send up such a message). I haven't gone looking for them to see what they could possible be.

This is actually just a single chapter from a sprinter service manual. Not sure if it's for OM612 or OM647 Sprinters. Only 200 pages, not even close to the whole sprinter service manual. If you are interested in getting the real thing, here is a link to the Sprinter Ultimate Service Manual 3.0. It's a compilation project I have been working on for 5 years. I sell it on eBay only right now, but it will be available for direct purchase online soon. Thanks for checking it out!:smirk:

While I commend your project, your page length data is incorrect - as the free posting has both the complete 2003 manual and individual chapters. I just checked, and the posted 2003 manuel has over 1200 pages. I do note that the site has enforced a slow download speed as a means of inducing people to pay for a faster download - it takes at least 12 minutes to download the 39 meg file. You get what you pay for.

Am I to assume that you wrote and produced an entire service manual for Sprinters? If this is a copy of the Dodge or MB service manual, selling it is illegal unless you have permission of the copyright holder. Since Dodge sells them through a single source, I figure that you didn't obtain permission.

Actually, It would be retarded to think I produced an entire service manual myself. How could I possibly do that? There is no MB service manual for US Sprinters, only Dodge manuals. Also, don't you think I would be aware that selling copies of service manuals illegal? I obtained permission from Daimler-Chrysler in 2005 to reproduce the service manuals, the parts catalogs have always been available for free if you know where to get them. The tech guides are collected relevent pieces of service info, and the CD has a custom built menu interface that ties parts catalogs with the service manuals and tech guides, something the factory overlooked doing... There is no better source of sprinter info anywhere. Ask any of the hundreds of satisfied ebay buyers who own one. I guess you figured wrong...

The 2003 NAFTA Service manual (and there is a lot in common with European models) is at: http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/
specifically: http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/2003SprinterManuals.zip
(the "service manual" is actually a bunch of files: one 40 megabyte "manual", and a bunch of subsystem diagnostic-tree manuals)
