Some of the ones I've put up as "Where am I" have been terribly easy. This may be one of those. Guesses allowed. The winner will have his or her name written in my personal hall of fame.
By the way, if you haven't been to this campground and this town, why not?

I was going to say Yosemite, but those are Eucalyptus trees right? I don't remember seeing those types of trees in the valley.
So, are you in California?

I've been around the world a couple of times or more, I've seen the sights, I've had delights on every foreign shore. But my mates all ask me the place I adore! I tell tell them right away...Give me a home amongst the "Gum Trees"...with lot's of plum tress, a sheep or two, a Ka-Kangaroo,, cloth line out the back, veranda out the front, and an old rocking chair.
But where is Bill?

Hi Seek, Jon, and Richard, you are getting some of the clues. Yes, they are Eucalyptus and they are in California. Jon, I think there aren't Eucalyptus like these at Cachuma.

Here's the first additional clue, a detail from the photo.

Let's see... a campground with at least 95 sites, and no bears (since that storage box would not deter a bear).

Storage box? I thought that was an outhouse! And I wondered where a campground with 95 sites each with their own outhouse could be!! zz

Sorry Jon, not Lake Minden and Dick's right, no bears although there is a nearby valley with a name that refers to historical bears and at least once a year a bear is killed on a nearby highway.
I guess that's the second clue and here's the third one:

Sure looks like Morro Bay State Park. Eucalyptus trees with a golf course in the background.

there are so many parks in cal. judging from the somewhat "green" growth, i would venture to say you are in the north/central/coastal area. but i could be wrong.:idunno:

Bingo!! Rick Wins!
Congratulations Rick. I thought Bulbasor would be the one to win this but he didn't even weigh in.

Good analysis, Bruce. Morro Bay State Park is a jewel in that it has recently been renovated, it's located next to a golf course and next to a marina and a very good cafe. Kayaking is a walk across the street, hiking is just out the door, and there a lot of excellent restaurants in Morro Bay on the Embarcadero. You could walk to the fine dining either at the cafe across the street or into town or also to the Inn at Morro Bay which is just across the golf course and when you check in to the State Park they give you a pass to the excellent Natural History Museum. Great place to take the kids. While it's no Monterey Bay Aquarium, by a long shot, it's good.

Baywood Bill, Thanks!! I've always wanted to be in a personal hall of fame. That area is fun to visit with lots to do. I always enjoy the kayaking and birdwatching in the back bay.
For those of you that have not been there, other state parks in the area, both N and S of Morro Bay are within an easy day trip and offer beautiful scenery and lots of other outdoor activities.
