I've seen them plated, but I think they're only for campus use. Too bad I can't have one just for roaming around the city, especially because of the 25mph limit.

i seen "pick up" versions at the university of toledo. but their so ugly i wouldnt wanna drive one.
theres a dealer here in my town "buck knobby's" that sells the pick up and dump truck styles. some lawn care places use them as do snow removal places for doing side walks. their very small.

Back in the late sixties Subaru first attempt at the US market was with this type of vehicle. They has a sedan, van and pickup with 360cc 2 cylinder 2 strokes. They couldn't find dealers and were selling them off the docks in Baltimore for $700 cash. Friends of the family went down and bought one of each and sold the sedan to my mom. The sedan got 60-70 MPG, but was so slow, kids on bikes would challenge my mom to drag races! It was my first car on the road as a teenager. We went to my brother's bachelor party in his friend's van version. Good times and $.29 gasoline!
