OEM MBenz rear lowering leaf springs-16" Cargos

Own a 2500 Cargo with OEM 16" wheels and want the rear of your Sprinter approx 1-1/4" inch lower for easier cargo deck loading, better handling and stability or just a cooler look?

I have 1 set of OEM MBenz, rear, "new vehicle take-off", lowering leaf springs available. Only $299/pair! (dealer list is $419/spring!!). FedEx shipping anywhere in lower 48 is just $35.00/spring. Doktor A

I didn't know such a spring existed. Is it a stiffer spring? Will lowering the truck 1 1/2" in the rear only give it a funny stance (IE front higher than rear)? I assume the better handling is achieved from the trucks lower center of gravity.
But,wouldn't the lower rear slow the steering a little?

Same "progressive" spring rate as the tapered OEM 16" wheel Cargo springs but contoured differently, to lower the vehicle.

Cargo Sprinters have substantial nose-down rake, unless at max load. Lowering the rear this amount will result in near level stance (under light to moderate load) not "nose-up" rake. Doktor A

So they are the same stiffness as stock?

It'd make more sense to me to have lower and a bit softer rears for usually lightly loaded passenger models. That's be what I would want for my van, the rear end being hugely over-sprung for my purposes as a daily driver.

So are these replacement leaf springs ?, would they work on an 07' 3500 ??

These brand new MBenz rear leaf springs are still available. For cargo '02-'06 2500 models. Will lower the rear of mid-'02-'06 models (with 16 inch wheels as fitted originally). Doktor A
