Just ordered the kit. After I install it, the fun will be trying to get a dealer to activate it without charging a fortune!

Good luck with that. After begging for a break (loyal customer, etc) failed, I paid $130 in San Jose for the activation.

what you need is a 6 core cable " if your right hand drive you will need a 5-6 foot cable if left hand drive just over 1 foot is needed"and the metal pins to solder onto the wires, you should have got a manual with it so you will know how to set it up.
here is the manual.
ps this txt file is handy for pin outs, its what i used. if you need any help let me know:thumbup:

I just bought my 2005 sprinter last week. This forum has answered several questions that I had. I also found out that my local dealer is overcharging me by quite a bit. Looking for a different dealer to work with.
I want to install cruise on my vehicle. I tried to order from the link provided earlier. The link to the product works but the product no longer is available. I ordered and received only the control arm.
What is the other items in the pic? Can I get them on my own locally or is this dealer only?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim,
I'd order the full factory kit from the UK for $209.00. Chris Case @ Gerard Mann is great to work with.
I paid almost $750 for the kit and installation at a Dodge dealer, and I'm sure that was far more than I might have
paid.
On the other side, the kit was installed by a fully factory trained Sprinter technician, using the full suite of Sprinter
diagnostic test equipment.
My Cruise Control works flawlessly and will hold my set speed within 15 rpm all day long from 20 mph to 80 mph.
Actually the tech took a little extra time to really tweak everything having to do with the install to the max. and
seemed rather proud of the job as it was the first CC install he had done that would hold at < 25 mph.
You could probably install it yourself, and save lots of $$, but how much is it going to cost to take it to someone
who has all the test equipment to really tweak and peak the installation?
You cannot just install the wires and components, your ECU needs to have some programming to work with the CC.
It took a good Sprinter tech 1/2 a day to get it all installed correctly and tuned up.
Hope this helps,
Roger

It shouldn't require any tweaking or peaking or fiddling or tuning. The control logic is all digital programming in the ECU and there is nothing the tech can tweak. Just make sure your electrical connections are good and that's really all you need to be careful with.

I think what is being referenced is the reprogramming mentioned at Posts 4 and 5 in this thread: http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?p=140007#post140007

I've purchase a cruise control off SprinterUK. All went well until I can to connect up to the ECU. Either mine is different or I've not found it yet! I've posted some images etc. here - http://www.bitz.me.uk/autocruise/index.htm
I get the impression I'm going to have to splice cables, but... which ones?
Any help and guidance will be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance

I ordered cruise stick on last week, installed it, wired it, with no problems. Then I drove local Mercedes service, and they programmed my ECU, they said the car recognises cruise stick, but there is problem somewhere else.
The cruise isn't working, where should I try to find the fault?
The braking lights are working right and car doesn't flash any faulty lights.

To Beagle: I have same problem, and my local service is told me: You car has no ABS system! There is no way to install cruise! Is that true? My is 2003 316 CDI. :frown:

Yes, I noticed too that my car hasn't ABS system, but is it necessarily? I thought it takes the pulse somewhere where the speedometer does.
The oddest thing is that the computer in service recognises the stick and it does the things that it should.

Yes, i have same, ECU is programed, and it works fine, i can see in screen all direct when i move stick. Put no working cc. I wondering if there is someway to cheat ECU? Or is it possible to change older ECU? :idunno:

I took the van to in Mb service and they said, the car has no Abs system and it can't work. The only way to get cruise working is install accessory serie. Waeco or something. Those series are a bit expensives.
