Hi all, I am Mel from sunny Yorkshire, I have just picked up a great 311 on an 03, I traded in a small Vivaro, really happy with the van drives a treat and only 90k on the clock. I use the van mainly for moving my bike about, greenlaning and the like.

I have made a small school boy error that I am hoping some one might be able to help with, the rear is ply lined, thats great but the floor is also lined. I never thought about it but I need the D rings. I am hoping not to have to de rivet it all to find them (if they are fitted). So the question is is there any way of finding them from underneath, allowing me to make a pilot hole before routing out a decent hole. The next question is can I buy the d rings and bush etc or is it best to ring round the scrap yards.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Mel

Hello Mel , Just peeked into mine . roughly speaking the rear most D-rings are 3" above the floor & approx 2" forward of the angled rear panel the lights sit in . the next set are approx 3" above wheel arch & 2" ahead of middle full length pressing in wheel arch . next set are 3" high & behind side door & seam on off side of body . Last set were either side of side door & opposite body side

Hope this helps you , normally ply liners cut the panels to allow the D-rings to remain . If your body is flush lined , it is possible they removed the rings . Your best source is a scrappy who breaks them .
The rings are held by torx bolts that run through step edged spacers . These allow the D-ring to swivel if needed & the bolts screw into captive nuts in the body . Make sure you get the spacers or you WILL damage the body !!!!!!

If you need I can take pics & exact measurements , but I am avoiding going near
( been sipping beer ;) ) at the moment
