:rad:We are taking delivery of a new 2012 IB in early June. Tan exterior and sangria interior. We've been researching the Leisure Travel Vans ever since we had a Serenity pull into the site next to us at a campground in Cannon Beach OR almost a year ago. We finally got a dealer here in Oregon and got to actually see, touch and drive the Unity model and simply loved it! The walk around island bed is awesome and we love the fact that the bedroom closes off from the main cabin with a solid wood door. There's a nice computer station at the foot of the bed and there's his and her wardrobe closets, drawers, and overhead cabinets in the bedroom. A separate water closet with electric flush china toilet and a stainless steel sink with corian countertops, plus a fully separate walk in shower with skylight. And finally, a 22" flat screen LED TV in the bedroom.
The main cabin has corian countertops, stainless steel sink with a detachable faucet, slide-out pantry, storage galore in 7 overhead cabinets, a slide out 26" flat screen LED TV, Dometic fridge/freezer, 2 burner cooktop, microwave convection oven, under sink storage galore and 4 fully opening cabinet drawers. All of the wood in this rig is SOLID and overhead cabinets have double struts and are all lockable.
Plus... A residential skylight with shade, ceiling fan vent and LED lighting throughout. Ducted A/C and heat pump throughout the coach for climate control and a command center above the side door where you can control the thermostat, lower and raise the electric jacks for a solid and stable feel when parked, check all levels of water and so on. 60 cubic feet of outside storage and an outdoor entertainment center and electric awning. All this in a 24.5ft Mercedes Benz Sprinter Diesel!!! It's unbelievable!
We are trading in our beloved Trail Lite R-Vision Class B for our new baby. Can't wait to take it out on its maiden voyage!:rad:

Hi PortlandRV, I was looking at the same model for the same reasons. If you don't mind me asking, what price did you pay for it out the door? Thanks

We are in Oregon, so no sales tax makes a BIG difference on a $100k+ RV! Let's just say that we will drive away for less than the MSRP. Since we have purchased the first LTV from this new Oregon dealer we did get a very nice deal. If you want to take the conversation off line I can be more specific.
We are also considering flying up to the factory in Canada and picking it up and taking the factory tour. This knocks $2500 in freight fees off of the price. You do pay $850 to have the coach all prepped and ready to roll. This includes a full tank of gas, propane, oil and everything else required for the 1500 mile trip back to Oregon. Should be nicer driving weather in mid June too.

Hi Portland, I sent you a private e-m. Also, I wanted to know if you know what the CCC is for your Unity 24cb and if it will accommodate two 175lb adults, a 70lb dog, a 300lb motorcycle with a 75lb motorcycle carrier mounted on the hitch along with other basic supplies, in addition to the fuel, water, etc... being 80% full? For some reason it is awfully hard to find the CCC for the Unity and Serenity although you'd think getting the basic info for the cargo carrying capacity for these models would be a simple no brainer. Thanks

OK, I finally got the answers to my questions from the sales manager at LTV. LTV calculates their CCC for the Unity at 461lbs and the Serenity at 396lbs. This is on top of them including all seat belts occupied; the Unity has 3 seatbelts and the Serenity 4 belts and having fuel, water and propane at 80% full. Don't ask me why but LTV assumes a seatbelted person weighs 156lbs. So this means the Unity with 3 seatbelted people weighing 156lbs=468lbs plus 461lbs means a true CCC of 929lbs for the Unity. The Serenity with 4 seatbelted people weighing 156lbs=624lbs plus 395lbs means a true CCC of 1019lbs.
LTV said the weights on average on the Unity front axle is 3543 lbs. and the rear 5835 lbs. The weights on average on the Serenity front axle is 3489 lbs and the rear 5847 lbs. The trailer hitch is rated at 500 lbs tongue and 5,000 lbs pull.
Hopefully this makes sense. A lot of work just to simply find out what the CCC is for the Unity and Serenity:laughing:

The unity IB actually has 4 seat belts. Driver, shotgun and 1 seat behind the driver and 1 behind shotgun. So you need to add another 156lbs to the ccc.

My bad Portland. 3 seatbelts is actually for the Unity 24cb (corner bed). Did you look at the Winnebago View Profile IQ before deciding on the Unity IB? I wanted to like the View IQ with a queen walk-around but it felt too cramped in the living quarters, which is why I'm looking at a more open floorplan; either the Unity 24cb, the Serenity Freedom 11 cb, the Winnebago View 24j and possibly the Unity IB. Keep me updated on your experience with the Unity...pros/cons, handling, storage, gas mpg, everything working as it should, etc... Thanks

I love my Serenity. It has more walk around space inside than the IB, but the trade off is the bathroom is small. Personally I would get the MB as it has the open feel AND the big bath, but if you spend the night somewhere you just pop down the bed from behind the sofa.
In the short run however I am not likely to change as the Serenity has the bed directly behind the driver so you can sleep while your partner drives, or in my case the dogs can sleep directly behind you. Other Sprinters the dogs tend to collect in the space between the two front seats. Lots of fighting for space. The bed behind the front seats is perfect. The bed in the back is the same Serta mattress that the Unity MB would have, so very comfortable, but it's 82" so I fit on the bed vs. the traditional 75" beds most RVs have.
Yeah, I would like to be able to make the bed by walking around it, and a computer table sounds nice but the IB seems REALLY cramped to me, putting all that stuff in and then me being 6'2". I think I just talked myself into the RV I already own.

@historydogg - we did check out the Navion IQ also at the same show. Didn't care for the finish. Compared to the IB there was no comparison. Formica laminated countertops with exposed seams was kind of cheap looking compared to Corian in the IB. The fact that the back has to slide out to use the bed is a bit self defeating. No storage over the driver compartment either. We were standing in the IQ when a couple of people walked in and the iQ rocked like a boat. Unity is solid underfoot with the electric stabilizers.
@israndy - I might agree with the openness of the IB being a little more constricting than in others in the main cabin and galley. But it's just 2 of us and no pets... So we were quite comfortable. The fact that the bed in the murphy bed model sits right in the middle of the coach makes it difficult for 1 to sleep if the other isn't quite ready for bed. In the IB there's a solid door that separates the sleeping area from the main cabin, so I can kick back and watch the 26" TV if she's sawing logs. Also, the bed is always available. And... There's an additional bed for a guest. The fact that this coach has more storage space by far than any other 24' class B, and without a slide, is as Dan would say, "Unbelievable"! More interior storage and 60 cubic ft of exterior storage means that the floor is always clear of clutter, thereby making the available floor space more tolerable. I have to say that LTV took full advantage of utilizing every available inch in the IB. And finally, we can always take the 22" TV and slide it off the bedroom wall mount and slide it onto the outdoor entertainment center if we're feeling claustrophobic. Different strokes for different folks.

Thanks for the feedback. I just got a quote for a brand new Itasca Navion/View 24J (corner bed) for $84k from the factory with every option included. Is the Unity 24cb or Serenity that much better in quality to command a $30,000 premium over the View?

I was just thinking that you can buy a brand new Mercedes 3500 spinter chassis cab for $35,000. So that means that anything you pay over $35k are for the 'house'. In your opinions is the house part of the Unity and/or Serenity worth the $75,000 you have to pay? Just seems like an awful lot of money when I look at it this way:thinking:.

Then don't look at it that way, LOL:smirk:
But really, you need to forget about the base sprinter that starts at $35k. Look at class B sprinter RV's as a category. Resell value on a class B is higher than any other class RV. We bought a used class B 2 years ago for $25.5k and got $25k for it 2 years later. The Mercedes diesel will demand higher resale value and depreciate less than other class B's due to the fuel economy. For example, compare diesel pusher class A's compared to gas Class A's in resell value. Big difference!
You're purchasing a second home, and the interest on the loan is tax deductible as a 2nd home. Not a Mercedes Sprinter with a box on it. Compare all Class B Mercedes Sprinters and then determine if the LTV is a good value. I for one believe that it is.

If you got a 2012 Itasca Navion View 24J for $84k with "every option included" then I would say you got a pretty sweet deal. According to their website the base model is $98,367 before you add any options. I have a list of all of the available options on the 24J below.
The difference between $84K and what you can get a Unity for is not $30k, but more like $20k. And our Unity IB is fully loaded. The finish and fit of the LTV is noticeably better than the Winnebago, bar none. Corian countertops versus Formica laminate. Solid wood cabinetry versus composite wood. But $20k can buy you a lot of gas! So if you're happy with the Navion, and you're really getting a "fully loaded" coach for $84k then go for it.
2012 Navion View 24J:

Yeah, the quote I got included all of that, the overcab entertainment center plus a diesel generator. I really need to see the Unity & Serenity in person so I can truly compare. It would be nice if the Unity & Serenity used pleated cab window blinds. Everything seems so Euro contemporary on these models except for the curtains. For the kind of money I'd spend, I'd really need to love it. I mean, if I was fairly content with the View 24j but in love with the Serenity or Unity, then I think it would be worth the additional $20k to be truly happy.

Hello all,
My first post in this forum. We have a 2012 Unity MB which we picked up last fall.
Have about 13,000kms on it so far and very happy with it.
I was on the Leisure Travel forum they started this spring until they decided to turf it. Too bad as it was really getting started. Is there anyone here that was on that forum?
Hopefully this thread will start to take off.

Hey 2whlrider! Welcome. Yeah... I was on the LTV forum also. So this is the new home I guess. We're looking forward to picking up our IB in less than 60 days. It goes on the assembly on April 30th and we already have the VIN #. Anything we should know as new Unity owners? We'll be driving it back the 1500 miles to Portland OR from Canada in early June.

The factory tour is well worth it. We want to go on it again as I like to see how things are layed out under the covers.
We've had no problems so far. You'll really enjoy it. The build quality and materials used are very good. We just took ours out of winter storage. Just connected the battery and it fired right up with no charging after sitting since last October.
Will you be going to the factory rally in September? We will be there.

Glad to find this thread guys as my wife and I are looking hard at the LTV products and the Unity 24IB specifically, as well as the View Profile. We just visited RV World in Nokomis Florida a couple of weeks ago and they had the Unity Murphy Bed model. I love the design, but as so often happens, once you actually get inside one, the DW had reservations. Go figure. Anyway, they didn't have the IB. Had one "on the way" , but we were on vacation and it came after we had to get back home. Really looking forward to reading your updates as yours is built and when you actually get on the road Portland. Hope LTV takes good care of you!

I wonder why Leisure killed the forum that they had set up. It seemed a perfect place for owners and would be owners to share their thoughts? Makes me wonder if they have some issues that they prefer not be aired. But I have driven several sprinter based rvs and have a Westfalia now and the Leisure RV's are clearly more upscale and more thought out designs. I have not seen another sprinter based rv that utilitzes the space more efficently. The IB is very creative in the way it uses all of the space available for something but I do like the open floor plan of the Serinity. I test drove the Serinity for about 30 miles on both interstate and back roads at RV World in Lakeland, Florida and it is very stable and very quiet with tremendous pickup. The new 188hp sprinter 3500 is a great rv platform. It really does not feel any larger when driving than our 18.5 foot Westfalia although I did not try to park it along a curb, only backed into a space.

They probably took down the forum because of the potential of people unloading their gripes on the LTV main website. People like to post mostly when they have a problem, but the site is supposed to bring in new people excited about their product. Perhaps when the site gets more content... Right now that forum was filling up fast and their other support material wasn't there to balance it out. When they have more videos and perhaps an accessory store online, they will have enough positive to have the support forum seem like just another tool to help and not evidence of a crappy product (which they are not).
I cannot imagine what the Westfalia must be like trying to park. The SerEnity is taller than my old Sprinter and wider so I have to be careful that the unit doesn't hit a telephone pole when I am parking it. You cannot see the rear tire in the mirror like the old Sprinter could. I wanna get really close to the curb as I am 8 feet wide, but the mirror, the door handle, and then the back corner all come SUPER close to the telephone pole as I park.
Wish I had curb feelers, with the rear tires sticking out farther than the front it is hard to get it exactly right even after several months of driving it. Would love it if the curb feelers controlled the step too so that it would stay up if I am next to the curb. I have to pull the fuse before I open the door or it will open until hitting the curb, which would be OK, but as I get in and out the half extended step scrapes up and down with the shifting weight. Yick.

Will you have to pay customs duty as you enter the US?
Is the rate 3% (passenger car) or is it higher? (a fully-assembled light European truck is 25% (chicken war))

Similar to the 4.5% duty I had to pay on my 2006 Leisure Travel Van coming from Ohio to Canada. That was because the Sprinter with it's WD0 serial number does not qualify under NAFTA. The real choker is the LTV conversion (about 70% of the price) was initially done in Canada. Once it's exported to the US after conversion the total price (over $47k in my case) becomes subject to duty (tax)!
Other than that thorn, my 2006 LTV Free Spirit has been a totally top notch ownership experience.

We are purchasing the RV through the local LTV dealer here in the Portland OR area. So all of the financial transactions happens here (no sales tax in Oregon). When we go to the factory to pick it up, an LTV representative actually accompanies you across the border with the new vehicle and takes care of any paperwork. There are no additional payments required on our part. Essentially, we bought the vehicle from a U.S. dealer and we are simply picking it up, rather than it being shipped to the dealer for delivery. Simple as that.

Randy:
I had a rear view camera system installed on my Westfalia by Totall Vision from Tucson, Az. which is fabulous. It is gimbeled and can be controlled from the drivers seat so that I can point it at the ground and see the rear bumper and hitch or move it left or right and see the corner of the Westfalia which makes backing or parking a snap. I tow it periodically behind a 42ft vehicle with the same controls and can then see when I can pull back in after passing or can see vehicles behind the westfalia in tow. This was a bear prior to the total vision camera.

We took possession of our LTV Unity CB in Feb of this year. I reviewed on line most of the 'brands' available, and always came back to the LTV. Had only physically toured a Phoenix and Itasca and their quality just didn't seem a good as the LTV. Went through Phil Rizzio out of Kalispell, MT (there were no dealers in Oregon at the time),,,, he was great to work with and has been available for questions I've had since the purchase. It's easy to drive, easy to set up and the quality IS top notch!! My mileage so far averages 16-18mpg,,,, but the coach still has only 2600 miles. So far we've only done 1 nighters to get my husband (multiple heath issues) and my yellow lab used to the whole RV experience.

any opinion of forest rivera Solera 24m which is a murphy bed 60 by 80 inch.
I need the longer bed.

I checked the Solera's out to compare with the Unity MB unit. As you would expect by price comparison, the overall quality is cheaper in the Solera. However, the nice thing about that unit is the optional overcab bed and the unit is not that much higher overall than the Unity. Galley is opposite the layout in the Unity. So for the lower price you get an extra bed, if you choose, but also lower quality.
The 2 reasons we decided against an MB model: 1) lack of separate reading/watching TV area (other than cab or on the bed) when spouse retires early...I generally stay up a bit later, and 2) he wanted a bed ready to go. To me that was not an issue. But he doesn't want to spend the extra few minutes or so it would take to extend the slide and put the bed down (we got the CB unit). Sounds silly but he doesn't ask for much, so when he does, I usually defer.
Solera's are easier to find to check out and test drive.

BTW, @pennsnow, We're also buying ours through Phil, who's actually based in Las Vegas at Wagon Trail RV, sister or parent company of Creston RV in Kalispell. I spoke first with Dave Strawser at the Kalispell location since I thought they had the corner bed unit on their lot, and no one else had one to be found. So through Dave, who seems like a great, down to earth guy, by the way, I ended up speaking with Phil in Las Vegas. Great group of people to work with.
For other readers, both those RV dealers carry the LTVs.

I had forgotten that I joined this board eons ago. Somebody on the Facebook page suggested posting here. I was so bummed that they ended the Forum. :shifty: Now us poor Libero or Regency 24 people have nowhere to go.
But I guess I will lurk around here... since I have no other home.

I just went up on Yahoo Groups and created http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/LTV_Serenity/ so that I could more than post about the Serenity when the LTV Forum folded, it provides photo albums, database, file and link storage. I usually cross-post to the Serenity group here, but for uploads I post them there. Easy to create and I already have quite a few members...

Why not make it for all the LTV/EEE Class C units?
After all, though we may have some different platforms, most of our "insides" have the same stuff. I belong to quite a few Yahoo groups: one of the best being the View/Navion group, which has a large membership of knowledgeable Sprinter based owners.
We Chevys are kind of like orphans. :smilewink:

We're back home after our 1800 mile shake down trip in our new Unity IB. We went through hailstorms, thunder and lightning storms, 45 mph wind gusts and swarms of locust... and the coach worked flawlessly. Will post later with a breakdown of the shake down. But in a nutshell, everything was perfect. Here's a video of Dean handing us the keys....http://http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uDpolkdzDls

So now that the dust has finally settled, here's a summary of the initial 1800 mile shake down trip from the factory to Portland in our new Unity IB:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150971255171162&set=p.10150971255171162&type=1&ref=nf
Thursday, June 7th: After crossing the Canadian border and Bill Harder handing us the keys we drove down to Grand Forks Minnesota and camped for the first night under a large tree as a buffer from the quarter size hailstones and thunder showers that welcomed us. We had a good night's rest for our very first night and slept like babies after less than 2 hours sleep the night before due to our connecting flight in Denver being delayed almost 7 hours and not getting to the hotel in Winnipeg until 6:00 am and had an 8:00 am wake-up call to get to the factory by 10:00!
Friday, June 8th: Next day we thought about dropping down into Fargo and picking up a wood chipper, but not enough time. So we headed west and drove across North Dakota to the Montana border, dodging thunderstorms along the way. Very windy most of the way with gusts of 45 - 50 mph (must be why there are so many windmill farms on the plains). The Unity drove wonderfully through all of the elements that were thrown at us. We spent the night in western N Dakota. Found a nice little dry campsite next to a lake. Used the propane gen and it's very quiet and pumps out plenty of power. Propane gauge still showed full after putting 1.5 hours on the gen.
Saturday, June 9th: First beautiful day. Threat of thunderstorms this morning, but it cleared up nicely. Stopped in Billings quickly and thought about high tailing it down to Yellowstone, but ended up just heading west. Love the Blue Tec turbo diesel! She pulls hills pretty easily. No jerky slipping into passing gears... just a little high pitched whirling sound of the turbine kicking in. You wouldn't know it was a 6 banger. Cruising easily at 65-70 and tachs about 2600 RPM. Revs up to 2800 RPM at 70 mph. Speed limit was 75 out there, but just breaking her in slowly. With now 500 miles on the odometer was getting about 16 mpg on the break-in drive thus far. This will get better as the engine breaks in and the valves seat.
Sunday and Monday, June 10, 11: We spent 2 subsequent nights in Montana as we crossed the state and Walla Walla WA on Monday, June 11th. We pulled into Portland at 3:00 pm on Tuesday the 12th.
Everything working flawlessly on the shake down cruise. Heat pump a/c works great. Tried to figure out how do play a DVD in the Sony head unit out to the TV's and get the sound on the bedroom TV to work and not the surround sound system, but was too tired to figure it out. This thing has 3 TV's when you include the 7" Sony head unit. Add the outside TV mount and audio dock and that makes it four. A traveling home theatre on wheels!
The bed is comfortable and the feeling of luxury and comfort in this beautiful coach is quite impressive. You get a good idea of the attention to detail and quality in craftsmanship throughout when you're inside and out. There's obviously a lot of thought and collaborative planning that goes into designing a coach like this and it shows. This is especially true when you actually walk through the factory and can see firsthand the many processes and stages that goes into building one of these motorhomes. We are very impressed and extremely satisfied with our new Unity IB. We're looking forward to many years of enjoyment with our coach!
We would like thank the Triple E / Leisure Tavel Van team for their wonderful treatment and making us truly feel like a valued customer, as well as making us feel like part of the "family". From the moment that Bill Harder picked us up from our hotel in Winnipeg and drove us to the factory, to meeting Brad Wall and him showing us the ins and outs of the coach from bumper to bumper, to "Dean" walking us through the factory and showing us the many amazing and different stages of the assembly process, to Mike Elias, a 2nd generation member of the "E's" in Triple E, to once again Bill, for driving our new baby across the Canadian/U.S. border, handing us the keys, recommending the park to stay on our first night and bidding us farewell. We love you guys and we wish you nothing but success as you continue to innovate and create the best Class B RV in the industry!

Totally agree with you on the quality of the product and the people at the factory... and I'm so glad that all went well on your run home. Sorry that North Dakota greeted you with wind, thunder, and hail... but it is Spring and this is kind of how it goes up here. I'm glad that the hail did no damage. I had a car totaled by hail while I was sitting in it on I-94 some years back.
Just one quibble... Grand Forks is in North Dakota, not Minnesota (unless you made a jaunt across the river and into East Grand Forks). You must have passed through my town of Minot if you took Hwy 2 across the state. You should have stopped and given me the tour. I haven't seen an IB in person yet, but I'm sure that I will at the rally in September. Will you come back this way for the rally?

Yes, we crossed the river and stayed in East Grand Forks. I understand the river is the state border there. We walked from the park where we camped over the bridge and had coffee in ND the next morning.
Nope, not gonna be able to make the rally this year.

Well this is my second post here on the Sprinter-Forum and I want to thank you PortlandRV for taking the time to do this post it has helped me tremendously.
We are on Vacation right and in Brookings Or.......... We are just coming off and RV rally at Mills Casino. We have a 38ft Diesel Pusher and want to downsize. For the first time we toured a Sprinter View Profile at the rally and find out how much room there is and decided WE CAN DO THIS. When doing or laundry at the rally we ran into a couple who had done the same thing we want to do. But they had the Unity (Leisure Travel) Side Bed. They highly recommended the Leisure line of RV's. Your post PortlandRV has helped me narrow down the Manufacture List now I need to find a dealer in Central Valley of California.....
How do I find a dealer?

There is a dealer locator on the leisurevans.com website at http://http://www.leisurevans.com/dealers/index.html (http://www.leisurevans.com/dealers/index.html). I know that La Mesa RV in Davis CA is the only dealer in central (northern) Ca.

It's been 4 weeks this Thursday that we picked up our new Unity IB from the factory. Just got back from Shasta Lake CA for a 5 day excursion. The Unity pulled our Malibu wakeboard boat with ease and it was relatively simple launching the boat, even without a back window, with the aid of the side view mirrors and back-up camera. We also put a versahauler motorcycle carrier in the class 3 receiver and carry a 250cc scooter with us to get around on if we have to run errands or want to venture out. Don't even know it's back there when we're driving.
A little over 3,000 miles in less than 4 weeks already. Taking it out every weekend so far. Went to the Columbia Gorge and heading to Bend OR next weekend! Then the coast and the San Juan Islands too. Loving everything about it so far. It is the perfect coach for the 2 of us.

Quick question after picking up our 2013 Unity 24MB Friday night.
When driving home I turned on the water pump and it wouldn't quit running. I walked outside and discovered it was running (unrestricted) our of the fresh water/fill connection. I operated the fresh water/fill valve and assured that it was in the fresh water (normal) position. The hot water heater bypass was also in the normal position. The only way I could get the water to stop running out the hose connection was to plug it with a blow-out valve (used to blow air into the lines to drain them of water for the winter).:idunno:
Is this normal with the Unity? I've owned many different RVs and none of them have worked this way so I'm concerned something is not quite right and the factory nor the dealer caught it.
I thought I'd get some feedback prior to contacting them.

Your description of the water problem is a little confusing. You say that the water is coming out of the hose connection at the exterior service door? That's very strange if so. When you fill the Unity water tank you select the fill position (3:00 o'clock) and when the tank is full - the water will overflow through a bleeder valve. Afterwards you return the valve to the 6:00 position and replace the cap on the hose connection. So when you turn on the water pump, the only time the pump should come on is when you open a faucet.
I've never seen water come out of the hose connection before. It would seem that there's a valve in the closed position, preventing the water to make it to the faucet and diverting it to the hose connector. Do the faucets work at all? Have you tried the city water hookup under pressure yet (no water pump)?
You might want to take a look at the owners manual to ensure that the valve positions are in the correct position. Don't know what else to suggest, short of calling the factory. Let us know if you figured it all out.

I did check the owners manual and it lists only two valves (other than faucets and the fresh water tank drain valve) and both of these are to be in normal position.
Yes, the city water works just fine when a hose is connected to a water supply. All faucets work fine and no water leaks exist when a hose with water pressure is connected. When I disconnect the hose and place the little rubber plug into the fresh water hose connection and the water pump is off, still no leaks. When I turn the water pump on, as soon as the water pressure builds up in the line, the pressure pushes the rubber plug out of the fresh water hose connection and begins pumping water out into that utility bay. The only way I can keep the pressure in the system at that point is to screw in a blow-out plug into the hose connection. With the freshwater hose connection plugged, the water system works fine and the pump cycles only when I open a faucet or flush the toilet.

Valve position check: City Water - 6:00 / Winterize Valve - 9:00 / Hot Water Valve (under sink) 12:00. If all these are in these positions then you shouldn't have to plug the hose connection and I'm at a total loss as to why the water is being pushed out the fill connection. Then again, maybe there's been a plumbing modification to the 2013.
Your best bet would be to call the factory in Canada. They will be happy to help you! good luck...

I believe that water inlet has a check valve that will let water under pressure enter the system from the external city water supply but will prevent water from exiting the connection when the pump pressurizes the system as when using your fresh water tank for your water supply. It sounds like the check valve is stuck in the open position and not closing when you disconnect the city water. Short of replacing the inlet supply connection, you may be able to get it to function by removing the outside elbow then carefully removing the screen. Then try to see if you can move the valve with a small screwdriver to get it to seat. Hope this helps.

:cheers:Yes, I was finally able to clear the check valve. I had to turn on the pump and get my arm soaked a few minutes as it continually depressed and released the valve (a small socket with extension worked great). It didn't seem to come loose for several times then all of a sudden it "popped" shut and slowed the water to a very small drip. I decided to depress and release it several times after the pump and built-up full pressure. That did it...it seated fully and no drips.
Thanks for the tip!

I'd like to haul a 150 cc or so scooter and am considering the Versahauler. Do you feel any bounce in the back of your RV?
A scooter is a great alternative to the more complicated set up of hauling a small car I would think.

Sorry for the long delay in replying bookman. The carrier weighs shy of 100 lbs and the 250 cc scooter weighs about 225 lbs. I probably wouldn't want to put much more weight back there. We took a 400 mile trip each way a few weeks back and there wasn't much noticeable bouncing to speak of.

We drove through N Dakota on the way back from the LTV factory in June after picking up our Unity IB. And we definitely had plenty of winds driving back. Some of the strongest I've ever encountered. Since the van is pretty much a box on wheels, it's not exactly the most aerodynamic vehicle on the road. But I just eased back on the throttle and kept both hands on the wheel. Passing semi's down the interstate at around 60 - 65 mph.
The Mercedes is a real pleasure to drive and the Blue Tech turbo diesel does a great job of climbing hills and cruise effortlessly down the highway. As with any RV when faced with high winds, a slight correction of the steering wheel will help to maintain a straight track down the road.

That is actually one of the reasons that I got the Serenity. Low for a motorhome, at only 9.5'. I hear tale of people driving the Airstream Westfalia at 14'+ in strong winds, but the Serenity has a lot of weight, 3500 chassis, with large and low water and propane tanks (at least the 2007 model) and is quite low and aerodynamic compared to most of the industry. Not that I don't notice the winds, but I haven't slowed down for any driving in the Carquinez Strait here in the bay area on some VERY windy days. That's where we have all the wind turbines that recently went up.

Hi everyone. Getting in on this late, but caught up. When we first started researching Class Bs, the Roadtrek seemed the way to go. However, since seeing the LTV MB, we have changed our minds. I plan on attending the Hershey,Pa show in 2013 to see all of the models in person. we live in NY and the nearest dealer is in Pa.
Due to medical issues we require an RV that my wife can simply lie down while travelling. We like the room the slide provides, and while driving, she can just arrange the cushions in the dining area and lie down (slide in obviously). The lounge chairs don't work for us. We also like that the entire rear is the bathroom/shower. It's just the two of us, and we can also use this as an everyday vehicle. The problem may be parking, as we are selling our house and may not have a driveway when we move.
Looking forward to seeing the changes, and possibly pulling the trigger late 2013 or even a 2014.

So... did this dealer only have the Serenity and didn't want you to consider a Unity? To me that idea sounds ridiculous. Look at their website. I have also seen both units in person. The build quality and the materials (not to mention the factory and workers) are the same. There are style differences and the Unity is a bit higher. The main difference is that the Serenity is built on/in a one piece fiberglass body, where the Unity is a more boxy type construction.
I would discuss this with the factory as this dealer doesn't appear to know what he is talking about...

@genze Big difference is the one piece molded body (exterior). That's the huge difference. The rest is easy enough for you to compare when on LTV's site: differences in layouts, height, cosmetic features.
Because Serenity is 'uni-body' there is no slide-out.
For differences in construction between the two, view the videos by ltveeesalestraining on youtube. Here's a vid to get you started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NWHrQMd90o .
These are training videos for their distributors but are wonderfully helpful to watch, and perhaps helpful to those trying to make a decision on which to consider or purchase.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I like the body and the hight of the Serenity but the extra space of the pop out Unity. I know this is a sprinter forum but what about Libero. its got wider rear axel that fills the back wheel wells. should be better in high wind. has more carying capacity. Has air bags. I was told it gets 16 MPG. Is that true? I know the Mercedes is cool....
After you pay higher cost for diesel and the new additive to add to the fuel after 2010 what is the advantage of the Mercedes. I used to have the pleasure way on the old sprinter with single rear wheels and that thing was terrible in high winds. On the highway on long trips at 75 mph
it would wander all over the place and was a handfull to drive. My wife hated to drive it on the highway. Anyway thanks....

I have the same interior as the Serenity. Mine has the older style dinette as I preferred it (one of the last of the form they had left) and ordered it disconnected to put in my dog kennel. It drives GREAT!! Such an improvement over my previous Ford E350 B-Class, which was a horror to drive. At the end of the day, I am not exhausted from wrestling with the sloppy Ford steering.
For that 16 MPG, you would need to be driving the LTV B-Class in the Chevy van (or the roadtrek). In the Libero C, I have done better than most Chevy based units in the Class C RV Net branch. Over my 4 trips (to ND/AZ/ND and a couple short trips to MN/WI), I have averaged about 12.5 mpg. That included mountains and flat... headwinds and tailwinds... not towing... lightly loaded... and I drive between 55-65 mph.
I specifically did not want a slide, as to me it is just another mechanical thing to give me trouble... and since it is just me and a small dog, there is enough space.

Libero and Serenity are the same size. is there a reason you went Libero over Serenity ?
What bothers me about the newer sprinter RVs is the coach body width overhangs almost eight inches beyond the sidewall of the dually rear wheels on each side. That's a total of almost 16 inches of coach overhang outside the rear track (width).
This definitely affects handling and sway. In comparison, all the other non Sprinter coaches had less than 1 inch body width overhang beyond the dually side-walls.
The Libero at least has the wider track on th rear dually wheels.
I wish the sprinter had a wider rear track.

Although I have loved the Sprinters since they came out... love the European look of them, I decided that the Chevy was more practical with the added attraction of being about $10,000 cheaper.
As a non-mechanical female who travels with only the dog, I wanted something dependable and easy to fix. While Sprinters are dependable, the fact is that it you do have a problem in many areas of the US - in particular the prairie states that I drive through a lot - it can be a long way to the nearest service center. I kept reading on the Sprinter RV boards about people ending up with 200-400 miles towing to get needed service. This is a problem that doesn't happen with a Chevy van. Even the smallest town on the prairies has someone who knows how to fix it. Mercedes has really dropped the ball in the US. While I can get an oil change at my local Dodge dealer, they can't do warranty work... for that I would have to drive nearly 300 miles. (the two closest Freightliner shops say that they have no Sprinter techs or computer stuff and won't work on them... unless they are badged Freightliner... in spite of the fact that I pointed out that Mercedes owns them.)
So that and the fact that I will not own this unit for 20 years and put on 100,000 miles means that the $10K price difference will buy me a whole lot of gas, even at today's prices.

Makes sense. I would like to know how it drives at around 70 to 75 mph in light to moderate
winds compared to the sprinter serenity/ unity

As a new Unity owner with almost 4k logged since we picked it up in June, I will chime in on the handling characteristics. As mentioned in another post, the Unity handled very well in the 50+ mph winds crossing the northern plains. The Benz has rack and pinion steering and independent front suspension which really makes a positive difference in handling characteristics, both in high winds and on winding roads. It's an RV, not a sports car, but even so, entering and exiting turns and using the apex properly and proper braking will make it a smoother ride for all on board. The 5 speed transmission is very handy when ascending or descending hills. And the turbo will kick in where situations require a little more oxygen in the combustion process of burning fuel and sending the power to the engine. The BlueTec diesel is a pleasure. While it may provide less horsepower than the Chevy block, it provides decent torque and superior gas mileage. Getting just over 20 mpg at this point.
As far as the DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) there is not a lot of worry. You get about 1700 miles to the gallon of DEF and this means you're only filling the reservoir only every 8500 miles or so.

Finally, the GVWR on the Sprinter chassis won't be as much as the Chevy. So that is something to consider if you're going to be packing it full to the rooftop. The IB has 60 cubic ft of exterior storage alone, and we carry 2 inflatable kayaks, 2 sets of paddles, life vests, a stainless steel BBQ, a ceramic 48" portable firepit, 2 large collapsible chairs, a table, 8 x 10 indoor/outdoor carpet, 6 propane bottles, backpacks, motorcycle helmets and more, just in the pass-through rear storage alone. Then we hitch into a Versahaul suspended motorcycle carrier and load a 250cc Kymco scooter onto that. Not to mention pack the fridge, pots pans, plates, silverware, cups, dry goods and a full tank of gas and fresh water. Just drove down to Lake Shasta and it pulled 6% grades at 60mph in 4th gear. Oh, and did I mention also pulled a tournament 22' Malibu and tandem axle trailer at Shasta Lake?
I would say that personally, the biggest concern I have about the tires and wheels being set in by 8" is to not scrape the chrome exhaust pipe when pulling up to the curb to park parallel. But handing and hauling has been fine.

I normally set the cruise at 65 mph. I have found myself hitting 70 at times when I wasn't paying attention to speed. In light winds it is steady as a rock... of course we may define light or moderate differently, but it is the same with steady head or tail winds up to about 25 mph. If the winds are from the side at 25 mph or more and gusty, I'm not comfortable and may slow down to 60. It isn't nearly as bad as my Ford was... which with most any winds over 20 mph was white knuckle time and I often slowed it down to 50 before I felt under some control. Whereas with the Chevy, I've never been below 55 mph, even with 40 mph winds + gusts.
It has air bags that would have helped this, but the pumps sprung a leak and I haven't been back to the factory to get them fixed (next month I have an appt during our rally).
I have never driven a Sprinter, so I can't honestly compare, but I find that the Libero handles the wind not much differently than my Sienna minivan does.

On the Serenity I have never had issues with the exhaust, but the inset and a street with a high crown means that I can hit a telephone pole with the awning box or the top back corner. Glad I am only 9'6". High crown also means the house door scrapes the sidewalk. The advantage is that when I do park on the street I am not sticking further out into traffic than I already am. Of course I have trashed the chrome wheel cover in the front which is the perfect height to "detect" the curb.
The Serenity is not very affected by cross winds, no more than the Sprinter van conversion I used to drive. Being a Dodge however I won't be able to use Freightliner for tuneups. They were pretty snarky, so that's probably for the best, and the Dodge dealer is just about as close. Likely they will be cheaper too.

PortlandRV, thanks for the reports. I hope you continue to keep us updated on your adventures  I sent you a short email offline with some questions.
We've looked at the Airstream Interstate and the Roadtrek and then the LTV Unity came along. We haven't seen it in the flesh and it sounds like it will be a real issue to try and catch a glimpse of one here in Seattle. Since all three vans are built on the same chassis, (at least I think they are) I'm trying to figure out how the LTV looks so much larger and roomier online. Has anyone looked at the Airstream and can you give me an idea of how it compares? I'm a little gun shy about committing to a RV sight unseen but I'm impressed with what I've seen and read about the Unity.

I've been in both the Airstreams and the LTV models. The LTV Unity is built from the chassis up, whereas the Airstream is a true van camper that includes the sprinter body shell.
You can see the Unity's build in action in the following sales staff training videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUMBOOQ-BNI&feature=g-user-u
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqfVTm_mEi4&feature=g-user-u
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKrq2lTOQ14&feature=g-user-u
The Unity is bigger inside and higher as well. The height is one of the main reasons we chose a Unity, as my spouse is 6'2.5". We pick our Unity up next week.
By the way, spouse and I were in Seattle last week (he climbed Mt. Rainier), and saw a Unity with WA plates on it while in Seattle. Also saw a Free Spirit out on the road on Whidbey Island.

We bought a 2011 Unity about a month ago. It is the corner bed model and had only 5500 km on it when we got it. Since we live about 2500 km from the factory, it wasn't used much by the previous owner It has some features which I think were options - U shaped dinette, a solar panel on the roof, stablizer jacks, and air springs (air bags) on the rear. Very nice unit and eye catching -- we get lots of stares in the campground! I have some questions though.
1) The telescoping of the dinette table doesn't work very well and I can't see how to take it apart. Anyone have this problem?
2) When I use the bed in the dinette, I have problems with the centre cushions slipping apart and creating a hole. Any solution?
3) The bottom corners of the slide don't have any weatherstripping for when the slide is closed. I can see daylight, meaning that rodents may see a winter home. Maybe this is just a factory oversight.
4) I'm thinking of putting a folding shelf on the wall where the armchair normally sits. This is to the left of the door if you are inside. Could be a desk. Anyone do this?
5) The only speakers I have for the entertainment system are the dash speakers. Anyone have speakers in the coach area?
6) My motorhome was built in September, 2010 and first put on the road in the spring of 2011. Mercedes has the in-service date as June, 2010, and that's the date they use for the start of the warranty period. I feel like I'm cheated out of a year's warranty. Is this how it works for everyone?

My Chevrolet warranty went into effect the day I registered my 2011 Libero in my name - in September of 2011. I believe that this is how it is supposed to be for all RVs and I would check this out and see if it can be fixed.
In my Libero, I have speakers all around the unit... front to rear.
I think I would give the warranty department at the factory a call (Brad or Darrell) and ask these questions and see what they say. Your unit is still under LTV warranty (about the sound system).

My wife and I purchased a new 2013 Twin Bed Unity 24TB from at the Hersey Show. We drove it 1500 miles back to Texas and the last tank on Texas flat roads we averaged 17.3 mpg @ 60-65 mph. We are very pleased with the mileage, road handling and fit and finish of our new coach.
I have had good experiences with everything except the TV operation. I have the entertainment option with 3 tv locations and switch box located in the drivers side overhead cabinet located right behind the drivers seat. The documentation is lacking but I have pretty much figured most things out except viewing TV via the the antenna. If any of you Unity owners have advise please post here or send email.

We picked up our 2013 CB unit Sept. 11 and have 5000 miles on it now. The only issue we've had so far is that we idled a lot in Yellowstone and Glacier NP's so ran low on DEF fluid and DEF check light went on, so refilled def sooner than I expected, but understand now that idling = def use. So really not a problem at all. We did have the rear view mirror fall off on about day 4, which on our CB unit was not an issue because we have the offset window and don't really use that to watch behind us. MB dealer here will be fixing that Tues. for us.

I have Winegard Sensar antenna and amplified booster. I have Vizio E22VA and E261VA TVs. When I set the TV input source to TV I get a message of no input signal. I have the antenna booster on and the antenna fully elevated and have rotated it but the TV does not detect a signal. It does not even display of channel changes, just a blue screen, so I figure I have something wrong on the TV side.
I have the external entertainment center option so I have the 3 source switch box located in the overhead cabinet adjacent the dinette area, behind the drivers seat. It is in the same cabinet with the antenna booster.

The problem lies with the input selector of the Vizio TV. Select "menu" on your remote, then select "input source" then select "Antenna". You can then select "scan channels" if you like. The switching box in the overhead cabinet should be in the #1 position.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. I was just not being patient enough on the channel scanning. It was about 2 minutes into the scan before it found the first channel.
I also noted that because I am a ways out from the city I had to have the antenna booster on for the TV to detect the channels.

Hi fellow LTV owners!!
I had forgotten that I joined this board eons ago. Somebody on the Facebook page suggested posting here. I was so bummed that they ended the Forum. :shifty: Now us poor Libero or Regency 24 people have nowhere to go.
We are also leaning to buy a Libero, trading in our '05 Pleasure Way on '04 Sprinter. Please share how your experience has been with your Libero. Any engine or drive train issues? Mileage and maintenance requirements, etc. I like the wider rear axle vs the Serenity and its 1,000 larger weight bearing. I note that outside storage is smaller in the Libero vs the Serenity and wonder where is the additional storage in the Serenity. I also wonder about the rear sofa vs the bed. Is there storage under the bed? How is the sofa for sleeping? The sofa seems to have lots of cracks and may not lay perfectly flat, but want to hear from those who have this sofa bed... Al

I have the Serenity, I do like the storage, not so much of it that you don't clear it out at the end of a trip ('cept for cables and hoses) I keep a toolbox too. I have the rear Serta mattress, if you wanna sleep on multiple memory foam segments you can always take down the dinette. The mattress lifts up and provides under bed storage for extra blankets and pillows. The rear and side above floor storage is also under the bed.
I actually like the thinner chassis of the MB. When I park tires to the curb I am not sticking out in traffic as much as an 8 foot wide vehicle normally would. The downside is I can hit signs and poles easier and often have to watch for the door scraping on the sidewalk. I have not had issues with getting to various destinations, it seems quite powerful and I love the 19 mpg. I have a 4 wheel down toad or a motorcycle lift on the back and it just chugs down the road.

@aljimenez Your first sentence here is confusing. You mention you're leaning toward a Libero, which is not a sprinter, and state that you're trading in your PW on an 04 sprinter.
Are you looking at getting a trade in sprinter + a Libero (2 vehicles), or perhaps you mistook the Libero, possibly for the Serenity (which is a sprinter)?

Sorry to not respond, but I was on the road for a month and adding nearly 5000 miles to my Libero. I have had no engine or drive train issues at all (have over 12,000 miles on it now) All I have done is oil changes... two of them so far. It is overdue at the moment, but I just arrived in Arizona a couple days ago.
I chose the rear bed because I wanted the large storage area under the bed. And I also took it without the mattress as I am alone. I replaced it with a narrow mattress which gives me storage along the side too. Naturally there are pros and cons to choosing either bed option and it depends on your needs.
BTW... it drives very nicely... very little sway... behaves well in the wind unlike my old Ford based B that I would often have to slow down to 45 mph in the wind... and passing trucks were dang near throw me off the Interstate. If I don't have my cruise control set, I catch myself creeping up to 70 mph like I'm driving my Sienna van.
I'm very happy with it. It's not as pretty as the Sprinter, but I like it.

Hello hbeattie. Welcome to the forum. You reference the "canopy". Are you referring to the slide-out or the Murphy bed, or the exterior awning? There are rocker switches to operate all independently. Simple as locating the switch for the specific function and holding the switch until the slide or bed opens/closes. Did you get the U-lounge or the twin recliners? Here is a video of the bed operation. The awning operation is in the last video at 1:50

I am a new member to the forum. I am in the 'research" phase of determining which Class B to choose so I have a few questions on the Unity/Serenity models. One of the areas where I cannot seem to find a lot of details is external storage compartment dimensions. From viewing the various videos, I can eye ball estimate the external compartment sizes but having the actual dimensions for each would be better. If these are on-line somewhere, I would appreciate a link to their location. If not,
For the Unity IB, could someone provide the external compartment dimensions.
Same for the Serenity.
I am an avid golfer and it will be mandatory for me to carry 1 set of golf clubs on my travels :smilewink: The Unity IB has lots of storage for this purpose but it does not look like the Serenity can accommodate clubs. Is anyone hauling golf clubs with their Serenity?

I have the Libero... same floor plan as the Serenity. I don't golf, but it seems to me that they would fit under the bed - either corner platform or sofa. The opening would be on the passenger side rear. That hatch opens all the way to the narrow opening on the rear. You might want to check out the videos again with that in mind. (if the Serenity video doesn't show it, try the Libero video and see if it does)
Someone please correct this if I'm underestimating space needed.

I believe the door above the floor too small, works GREAT for groceries that don't need to go in the fridge, but I would think a better one would be the bay below the floor in the same location, has a tray that pulls out so you don't have to heft it in. Mine is in the shop or I would give you exact measure. I am not sure how tall a golf bag is on it's side, but it might even fit in the back, I don't full size golf so I don't know. The videos Dean has almost always mention golf clubs so I would be surprised if they make a coach that won't allow the clubs to come along.

We have the Unity IB. This van has more storage than any of the LTV models and was one of the reasons we selected this floorplan, besides the full time bed in the back and separate bedroom, water closet and shower.
In the pass-through storage alone we've packed all of the following items (at one time):
2 sets of golf clubs (1 in a tourney bag)
2 inflatable kayaks and paddles
2 life vests
10' x 12' Outdoor carpet
48" tall x 14" square propane fire feature
30" x 16" x 12" stainless steel propane gas grill
2 collapsible chairs
60" x 24" folding table
14" round collapsible end table
2 full face motorcycle helmets
And several other assorted smaller items

I believe that I would have to use the space under the bed as per Mumkin's description. I did not realize that compartment extended so deep and that is difficult to determine from the video. Mine is a "standard" size golf bag and with clubs the dimensions would be approximately 50" X 12" by 10". It does look like it would be very cumbersome to remove the clubs from that space in comparison to the Unity pass through storage though. Thanks for the replies.

FYI. Here is the question and the response that I received from Dean of Leisure Travel.
Question: Unable to determine whether the Serenity 2013 will be able to carry golf clubs in the external storage space. Can you provide the dimensions of the external storage space?
Answer: "Thank-you for the email at the back of the coach the rear storage compartment is 46” W x 22”D x 15” H , I can put two sets of clubs in there (carry bags). Also there is a compartment at the rear of the coach on the passenger side that is 40”w x 20” D x 15” H."

I saw the 2013 Unity Corner Bed model for the very first time in person yesterday. This is a very spacious flooplan indeed. Great choice if you are lookng for a full time bed with a slide. This one didn't have the U-lounge, but the traditional table and facing bench seats.

Interesting video. We have a 2011 Unity CB and there have been a few changes. The driver's seat on ours does not swivel, but a recliner chair is situated just in front of the coach door (but is movable). In the 2013, the recliner chair has been replaced with a cabinet that would be very handy, and the swivel driver's seat provides an extra seat. However, to provide better access to the swivel driver's seat, they have cut the corner off the U-lounge. For sleeping, the part of the U-lounge next to the window is 67", but the part on the door side is 77" long. On ours, that 77" section is 21" wide, but must be much narrower on the 2013. I need that extra length, so the new one might not work for me. As a side note, when sleeping on the U-lounge, the half-moon cushion keeps separating from its mate and then you fall in the crack. I use a Thermorest on top of the cushions so that doesn't happen. Only other changes I can see are a different entertainment centre and a larger TV.

Hey,Blue...maybe you want to try the 2013 and sell us the 2011 :)
Deborah,
Have you called Wagon Trail (https://www.wagontrailrv.com/home.php) in Las Vegas? They appear to be a Class B(+-C) dealer only. They certainly must see many trade-ins and ups.
Hey,Blue...maybe you want to try the 2013 and sell us the 2011 :)
Nice try! As I said to you before, contact me in 15 years and we may be able to make a deal! You could buy a 2013 -- spending more money is good for the economy.

Finally, we took delivery of our 2013 Unity IB on Thursday. We are absolutely thrilled with the rig and can't wait it get out on the road. A question, though....the galley counter space is tiny. How do people handle that, what with coffeemakers, toasters and such? Do you just take that stuff out when you need it and stow it otherwise?

Congrats!! That is the obvious answer... stowing. Of course, I am still overwhelmed by all the galley space after moving up from a regular Class B and not even having a place to put a plate when I was cooking. All is relative. :-)

We have the IB and are used to the counter space. We have a small 4 cup coffee maker with a small footprint. We also leave the cover on the sink until we're read to use it, or place the curved cut-out of the cover around the faucet and partially cover the sink. Don't carry a toaster with us. Could always use the convection oven for that I suppose, if you're plugged into shore power.
The 2014 will have a counter extension to the right of the cooktop. You could always call LTV and ask to purchase one and either install it yourself, or have it done.
Enjoy your new rig. We sure enjoy ours!

Thanks everyone. Portland, we had the factory install the counter extension in ours. There still isn't a whole lot of room on the counter as you know, but we'll adjust. We're absolutely in love with this rig. It is perfect for the two of us and if our 22 year old son decides he wants to tag along (highly doubtful), there is another bed for him. It's easy to drive and so user-friendly. And well-constructed. And great looking. We couldn't be happier!!

Another question- what is the best wi-fi hotspot solution for your rig?

We use the Verizon MiFi 4G hotspot. Good overall coverage and 4G speeds.

I agree, Verizon is EVERYWHERE, if there is cellular, you at least have Verizon. I have an iPhone and use the HotSpot feature to provide WiFi if there isn't any other WiFi, but I also have a WiFi repeater that I can put in the window. It takes VERY little power off the inverter to run and can pick up the signal of the RV Parks WiFi and repeat it for all the devices in the RV. Even used it to take a signal from someone's unlocked WiFi while traveling. Keeps the bill down on Verizon if I can use the Park's WiFi to stream movies and such... Of course I bring an old AppleTV that I preload with movies so if the WiFi is slow and nothing is on broadcast I have some place to go.

After much looking and quite a few RV shows, we came real close to buying a Navion until we seen the LTV Unity. Being just the two of us and not needing a slide out or the over the cab bed we decided on the Unity TB, just love all the sleeping space of that king bed. We really like the size of the Unity it's plenty big enough for the two of us and our Parson Russell. Looking forward to getting out on the road in it for a cross country trip this fall.

Thanks Portland, planing our first trip for the weekend after next. Finally have most of the things we need (grill etc.) that stow comfortably in the lower compartments. Would appriceate any suggestions that you have with that.
How does the electric flush toilet work out, any issues? It's the first time I have had one.
I need to find a thred that includes the Unity TB :)

JerzyUnity - When did you order the Unity? We ordered our Unity TB mid March & due to arrive at Dealer - Van City on June 18th, next week Wednesday. Hoping to pick it up on the 19th. We like the sleeping space as well & we have a Golden Retriever whom goes where we go. Our first trip will be last week of June to Holiday World in IN with the Grand Kids. Anyway to speed up the clock?

Unity Traveler I guess I was lucky, I got my Unity TB from Fretz RV in Souderton PA and they had just what I wanted. They gave me a better price than any of the dealers I called, and I called most of them. Fretz actually had a few in stock, our TB and two MB's. The TB we have is just the way we would have ordered it. It has the silver paint scheme, the cherry cabinet finish, sangria fabric combination, stabilizer jacks, lp generator, side turn cameras, rust protection, and PDI. We also have the s/s wheel covers that I believe are standard, although I was there yesterday and the MB they now have in stock did not have them.
We're taking a few local sort of shake down weekends, then going to Cape Cod the end of July for a week. Then we're heading to Ca in the fall to visit family. The sleeping space is great in the TB and only takes seconds to set up as a king, but had to have sheets made.
We have three dogs, two black labs and a Parson Russell. Everybody won't be able to go on the long trips be a bit tight, so the labs will stay home and the Parson Russell will go with us.
For your information, I was talking to Brad at LTV last week and found out a hitch mounted spare tire will be available soon! I plan on getting it as soon as it is available. Not that I plan on changing a tire myself (unless I have to), will let the roadside assistance take care of that.
I hope your trip to Holiday World is great, and that you enjoy your TB. Will the grand kids sleep with you or will they fit on the dinette bed? I guess you can't wait untill the 19th....good luck!

JerzyUnity - I didn't expect this, but I received a phone call from my dealer Van City just a few hours ago & he told me my Unity TB was to be delivered in the next few hours as he had a phone call from the Driver. We were told not to expect it until next week Wednesday. Great news, he is going to call me back this PM & tell me when we can pick up. Probably Friday or Saturday at the latest. We are excited.
The Grand Kids are traveling with there parents in there Camper, so we don't have to squeeze them in. Don't know where we would have put them considering we have a Golden Retriever traveling with us as well. Life is good!!!

Hey Jerzy! I assume that you've already logged a couple of trips by now. Was wondering what your first impressions were, not that you've had a chance to actually use everything, as well as drive it. Any likes, dislikes or comments that you'd like to share?
As far as your question about the macerator toilet... It seems to work just fine. I guess the only concern that I have is that it probably uses more water than a manual flush. So the black tank might fill quicker with this toilet.
Your outdoor storage is a little different than our IB. But we can cram quite a few things in the pass-through in the rear. This last trip to the Columbia Gorge we packed 2 large camp chairs, 2 large tables and 2 small tables, 2 sets of golf clubs, 2 inflatable kayaks, 2 sets of paddles, stainless steel BBQ, portable propane fire tower, 8' x 12' indoor/outdoor carpet, hiking poles, bocci ball set, croquet set and horseshoes set. On the driver side we use 2 plastic totes side-by-side in the the two forward compartments. In one compartment we have the electrical cords in one tote and water hoses in the other. In the other compartment we have various lights, and other items. The rear passenger side compartment we use for tools and other various items. And the front passenger side (to the right of the entrance door) is perfect for leveling blocks and wheel chocks. There is more that enough storage for us.
Looking forward to hearing your first impressions on yours.
