In California, Freeways and Highways may have a speed limit of 65 or 70 mph but there is also a speed limit sign that says 55 mph for trucks and trailers. Is the Sprinter RV subject to the 55 mph?
Thanks!!

RV's are not considered trucks even though some RV's make trucks look small in comparison. You can mostly thank AARP and the average age of the voting white haired RV owners for that. You do not need to abide by the truck speed limit in an RV the size of a Sprinter based rig anywhere I know of. vic

If the 55 applies to RVs there will be additional wording on the sign. Otherwise, no.

It must be a Sprinter-loving place, because it is perhaps the only place in the US where you can drive a Sprinter at exactly the speed limit and have the needle actually line up exactly on one of the speedometer divisions!

Its a nice town., but the next one is a little peculiar. the speed limit has curves to throw you off.

California highways / freeways are rugh as a cob! ...:bounce: Gas tax moneys procured, illegally used elseware!... Blame it on the casino strip, free drinks and DUI's on a high speed 120 MPH romp home, after the party.at the 'crack of dawn'.

Kubbie, Good eye on that. Pretty funny because out of all the forums i'm on, I use that name and not one person picked up on it. Yeah I lived in Argentina, Buenos Aires for a couple years also almost 20 years ago. That's exactly where the name came from. Back then we took Colectivos (buses) everywhere. Pretty crazy drivers in those old heavy duty Mercedes buses.

LOL those old mercy me Mer'c has serious kick-ass attitude.
As for the trains:smilewink: well they did re-upholster them, one by one. Strange when you think of it, as to the Sprinter factory is still the most advanced in the world today.

In the Bay Area most of the freeways are so bad that you couldn't tell if you have a broken shock. Some have been repaved in short spans. I'm not sure where all the "road tax" money went, CalTrans seems to have lots of brand new equipment every year, maybe they spend it all on shiney new trucks and don't have any left for materials.
Personally, I think they should not HAVE any heavy equipment, that all the road building should be farmed out to private companies.

Money is divided up by state employees doing useless work and to pay their astronomical pensions. We need to go bankrupt so the existing giveaway can be stopped. Back to the subject: I drive 5 mph over the speed limit for autos and do not attract attention.

I tend to drive at the speed limit, sometimes 5mph below depending on the quality of the road. In states where the limit is 75 or higher I drive 65-70. I'll do 75-80 if I'm not going to be burning too much fuel; downhill or with a tailwind, or on sombody else's dime (delivery/transport). There is a big dropoff in MPG over 60mph.

I've never been pulled over, mainly because at speed limit I'm driving 20mph less than most other traffic. My cop friends say that 10mph over the limit is the guideline, so set your cruise control at 74 on the freeways, and don't swerve or crowd other vehicles.

Being the curious sort, I looked up Boludo on Urban Dictionary. Lots of "interesting" definitions, not all of them good. Some are
