I just added an mp3 player to my arsenal of listening devices so that I could download some talk shows and listen to them at another time. I like to listen to them on the road without having to put on some headphones, which I guess in some places are illegal. I have an AUX input to my aftermarket deck, so it was time to add the necessary parts.

The OEM fascia.
3382
The backside of the fascia.
3384
Holes drilled into the fascia and dash.
3385
3.5mm jack and RCA cables not shown.

Now I can listen to my mp3 player on the road.

Interesting. Good pix.
I looked at the info in the manual for my factory head unit and it says that it can accept an aux input, so I've got an analog method to play my iPod.
I'm looking in the aftermarket (or from MB) for an iPod dock connector that allows the head unit to see it as a CD changer.
I'd love to be able to use those fancy steering wheel buttons to control the iPod.
If so, I'll post pix of the project. It's in the "dream" stage right now.

Hi Seek,
Did that 3.5 mm jack you installed have RCA cables on the other end that plug inot the rear RCA Aux imputs of your aftermarket deck?

No it didn't. The 3.5mm jack and the RCA cable were two separate items. The RCA cable did have a 3.5mm plug on the other end so that I could measure which one was for RED, WHT, and GND.

Is that an aftermarket facia you bought to mount the aftermarket radio, or can it be remved from the Becker and reuse?

Yes.

No. It sits right behind the Becker fascia. I was surprised and happy that it was there.
