Folding hand brake lever and swivel seats Code BE2
For some time now, it has been possible to order a folding hand brake lever, code BE2, for the new Sprinter. The folding hand brake lever is often employed if a swivel seat is used in the driver's area. Before turning the seat, the parking brake can be activated as usual by applying the parking brake lever, but can then be pushed back into the rest position without pressing the safety knob in the folding version. To release the parking brake, the lever must be pulled up again and then released again downwards while keeping the safety knob pressed. Installation of the special equipment BE2 makes it possible to park the vehicle correctly with the parking brake and turn the front seats at the same at the same time if turning gear is installed.
Swivel seats and the folding hand brake lever are typically used if the driver's and/or passenger's seat is to be incorporated functionally in the interior when the vehicle is at a standstill. This is frequently the case in the motor caravan segment or also for operation control vehicles of the fire service or for police vehicles.
In the near future, swivel bases for the Comfort driver's seat and the Comfort passenger's seat can also be ordered directly ex works with the code SR8 (driver's seat swivel base) and SR9 (passenger's seat swivel base). You will be informed about this later seperatly.
New addition rules of the seat frames
From 02/2007 onwards the addition rules of the seat frames will be modified in conjunction with the folding hand brake lever. From the above time period onwards, BE2 high seat frames (height approx. 300 mm) will be added automatically as standard when ordering the code.
If a low seat frame (height approx. 225 mm) is necessary for the driver's or passenger's seat, this can be ordered with the code S87 (driver's seat frame, low) and code S88 (passenger's seat frame, low).
