Rubber fill plug.

Drain plug.

Axle sure looks different from the T1N axles found here...

Anyone know if this axle is source from Werk-Kassell (http://sprinter-source.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7780&postcount=1)?

And they're sure different to ours Quoting the mystery 5.0 final axle ratio on a unmentioned web site where its actually 4.727 sound like an old Boeing job  It's for gas But MB says this is a Chrysler US spec Not European
Axles lightweight sourced from Freightliners Old or now redundant plant at Tidton county soon to be replaced with new factory at Indiana  one or the other.

There is no way that axle can fit in the standard housing of a 3500 standard unit it's too thick notice the difference between the two housings everything is differnt twin stabilzers bearings just look at the differnces, mind you Tom did not indicate which photo that was taken from! Model that is, apart from Gas.

So you don't think the center sections are used for both the single wheel and dual wheel axles?

The picture of the drain plug, for both the thinner and thicker sway bar, look exactly the same.

Look at drain plug on this dual wheeled axle...

...and compare it to this single wheeled axle drain plug...

The structure looks exactly the same to me.

I think (I'll have to verify) the older one uses the same center section (diff) for both the single (semi-float) and dual (full-float) wheels.

Hi seek the structure looks the same but the axle housing is thicker along with a slight difference at the uni joints what does not show is the massive cross beam reinforcing on the body itself, as that one fits on a 5t to 6.9 tonne unit with a 2000 KG front axle class 6000
US class 3500
up to 4.9t single and rear wheel for this model is with a final axle ratio for an automatic Diesel 3.923 perfect match
front axle loading 1850 KG
Gas rear axle final axle ratio 4.364
Class 2500
Front axle loading 1460Kg standard front hub
Single rear wheel Rear final axle ratio 3.923

There are options that can be altered as the US can configure to their own specs if they wish, to a degree., but not when it's out side of the parameters of safety. I have spoken to MB and Freightliner Australia , that is specific to US sprinters Both agree that the their are serious concerns to the sprinters in the way they have been presented to the N/American sector,
Quote its one thing for a Chrysler site to state inaccurate and flawed information, that once recognized as such , there should have been an immediate rectification remedy the sites accuracy to sprinters specifications.
If you drop back to Toms last post showing the axle ratios and the tire loading pressures, then view the official US sticker in part for compliance, then and only then can it be legally challenged
Take a real close look Lads.[2007 +NCU3 update]
The photos are for a 2500 series Sprinter
