In the last three years, I've seen maybe a dozen people asking about adding an engine oil bypass filter to the MB OM642, 3.0L diesel engine.

This document answers the frequently asked questions:
1) Has anyone put a bypass engine oil filter on a NAFTA NCV3 Sprinter (OM642, 3.0L), an engine found in Jeep Grande Cherokee CRDs as well as a few MB chassis? (YES)
2) Where do I find a source of pressured oil on the engine to feed the bypass filter?
3) Where do I return the filtered engine oil?
4) What fittings do I need?
