Just back for a trip to the Cote d'Azur (south of France) and I liked to share some pictures with you from overseas.
The whole trip was 5256 km in 17 days.
First stop was the campsite of Dijon, France

Thank you for sharing your photos. I lived in Chateauroux and Everoux France in the early '60s. It is a beautiful country and I'm envious of your ability to travel there and see the these stunning sights. I have very good memories of those times.
I see you from Arnhem ... a place well known to Airborne soldiers.
You have a very nice Sprinter and trailer. Sweet!!
Best wishes!!! (and post more photos!!!!)

From Arnhem indeed, born and raised there. The town also known from the movie "A bridge too far" (the bridge in the movie is not in Arnhem) Have lived in Oosterbeek a few years at the west of Arnhem very close to the war cemetery where a lot of Airborne soldiers are buried...and remembered every year.
In the 80's my parents always took me to France for the summerholidays in the 1974 Citroën DS which I still own, must be a car you have seen a lot there in the 60's!

I'm familiar with Arnhem & Oosterbeek and Operation Market -Garden, having studied the battle and read the book "A Bridge Too Far" - by John Toland, if I'm remembering correctly. I graduated from High School in Chateauroux and this summer a classmate visited Oosterbeek & Arnhem to visit the battlefield and locate the place where her Uncle was killed. Two very kind Dutchmen, historians of the battle, took her to the approximate location of his death. She was very appreciative for their help. She took a lot of photos. She was also very touched that the Dutch people still remember and revere the American sacrifices in WW2.
Mais Oui!!! I do remember the De'esse!!! The Goddess!! Even today they are an amazing piece of engineering. Fast, comfortable, to great handling, hydropneumatic suspension, inboard disk brakes, hydraulic boost to steering and brakes, 'traction advant!!!', full aero under pan, and that quirky single spoke steering wheel, the touch-o-matic shift (ancient paddle shifter without the paddles!!!) Formidable!!!!! We thought it was rather amusing to see them lay down when they were shut off and then, like a cow, get up in the back and then the front when re-started. Totally awesome!!!! Also the Citroen 2 CVs and 11 CVs (we called them 'Gangsta Citroens!'), the AMI 6; Renault - Dauphines, 4 CVs, Floridas, Panhards, Peugeots - 203, 404s, etc., etc.. Rene' Bonnets and Gordini Renaults!! Fiat Abarths!! Most impressive are the now long gone Berliet trucks! They were whoppers....monsters.
Oh yes... I remember a lot of that stuff.
You have a beautiful DS! How neat that you have been able to keep in in the family.
Thanks and Peace be with you!
