Prevention: rust trap under rear doors

On my old T1Ncan I had to deal with some reasonably serious corrosion underneath the plastic trim which in turn sits underneath the rear doors. It annoyed me because I didn't realise what was happening until it became a much more of a job than it needed to have been.

Decided to take a look underneath the similar trim on my NCV3 and found the beginnings of the same thing. What happens is that swarf and debris become trapped, once water gets in the mix it's game on for rust. Easy fix at this stage though: scuff the orange off / clean / mask / coat with thixothropic chassis wax. Only took an hour.

The factory have improved the design of the seal, and now fill the exposed metal seam with some kind of sealant which should help a little.
