Driving along in my Sprinter in typical Georgia spring weather - sunny and upper 80's, when the front AC gives out. Pulled into a quicky mart and looked under the hood.On the shelf where the bottom radiator mount is located was an oily puddle - leak located. DAD confirmed no pressure in system. It's the low pressure return line from the condenser back to the compressor. After I got home, I pulled the left headlight to get a better view. I found the line had been resting on the lower radiator plastic mount and chafed right through the line, almost like a knife cut. I haven't removed the line yet, I don't want to risk contaminating the system without capping the ends, so I put some tape over the cut. I'll pull it when I get the replacement, then have the system purged and serviced. I'll also add a chafe pad around the new line to prevent this from happening again. I've been looking on line for a new line - it's around $190.00. I'll also check to see if it can be repaired.
Thought I'd post this so someone else can avoid this.
