Very clever. So, is the particle filter essentially the same thing used on a gas engine exhaust (catalyptic converter, sp)? If so, why would it need changing more often? Is it because it will eventually clog up?

I was thinking of Jerry when I modified the CD, I'm not sure if the boys at Mercedes would have appreciated the song which took a bit to work out with time lines but it was appropriate and I thought funny.especially if you listen to the words and visually look at where the wording stops, with the animation
Yes it's as similar as a gas particulate filter.
If the engine runs right it will go a golden mile it is Quote from Mercedes supposed to last the life of the Sprinter, However if you run the wrong grade of fuel the carbon intake may block the filter, at the moment only shell and BP are putting in additives to keep the high sulfur content down, so one has to be careful not just with Diesel but with Gasoline as well.
We have threads running all over the place ,so for fun! I thought an animated version on how it works:thinking: would be fun, I can be serious, but just as crazy too.

Now if you want to have a good ol' time and do the rock and roll on a Friday nite then you gotta' go clean out and sweep the filter room and let the dog do the walk, and burn the cat to hell:tongue:
And theres nothing worse than the smell of burnt cat-fur-balls, which is why there should be another standard particle collector directly behind the main DPF.
PS: there are cleaning stations in Europe to unblock these so they can be serviced at a cost, so far Australia has not received them , to the best of my knowledge, as for your end I:idunno:

No it's fine I ran this one on a new thread thinking it could get lost in the other threads, but it was meant as fun, seems like an animation and a few words took a little precedence for some worlds are like a Black board jungle each reads what was written in as many different ways.
PS You should let the GW see it I think she should get a giggle out of it, mine cracked up laughing over it, only because she is a good old Rocking Robin from yesterday dam there would not be a single song she doesn't know of.
